The rubber bands that hold the loupe are fragile and easily break as happened twice to me.They don't hold the loupe very well either. However, by adding thin strips of velcro around the canon 7d LCD and also to the lips of the loupe, it works well and goes on and off a lot easier than with the rubber bands. The problem is that whether using the bands or velcro, the loupe is difficult to store once you revert to "photo" mode as opposed to "video" mode but this is a relatively minor effort.

I don't really like this product. I bought it to use it with my 5Dmk2, to do some movie-stuff.
But because you just attach it to the camera with some straps, it doesn't stay in its position, so you don't se the whole screen all the time.
Something with a frame, that sticks to the camera would be better.
Still, if you just use it, to check you screen when you're shooting outside, it's great!
I bought the Kit, so it comes with a magnifier, the straps, a lanyard and another eye-pice, which, i think is pretty good!

I am using the hoodloupe on a Canon T2i to assit in video production. It is a must for shooting video outside. In addition to using it for outside video it alleviates eyestrain when shooting prolonged video. I purchased originally with the stretchy bands to hold the hoodloupe on, purchased the hoodcranelater, it works better and just looks cooler. It assisted us in the shooting of our video web-series you can see the footage of the series at Official Trailer- A Cure For Dead – Surviving The Zombie Apocalypse | [@]

Hard to use, because of bad strapping. Loupe moves around when using it.

I use the loupe on my Canon 5D Mark II when I'm shooting video and pictures. It makes it possible to handhold the camera and focus while in live view. Rubber band straps work ok- not great please used the Microfinder loupe accessory.

Comments about Hoodman Cinema Kit HoodLoupe 3.0 LCD Screen Loupe for 3" Displays:
I thought this product would help while using "live view" outdoors for critical focusing, and it does, but it is somewhat cumbersome to use especially when switching back and forth from the Hood Eye to the camera's view finder. I either need to use it for many shots or just use the camera's view finder. If you do a lot of video with your DSLR it works quite well but using it for speedy still shots is a bit awkward. While you can temporarily move the Hood Eye out of the way to use the viewfinder but placing it back on the camera's LCD screen ain't all that easy. I wind up getting the eyepiece out of focus or the hood doesn't fit right on the LCD, however, I'm not sure there's an easier way to attach it to the camera. While the Hood Eye works well and does the job, it is a bit expensive.

This product is a huge help out in bright light at allowing me to review what I have taken. Sometimes it's hard to see the LCD screen in bright sunlight and this works perfectly. I like the fact that it has a strap that I can put around my neck and just keep it with me rather than having to affix it to my camera.

I use the loupe on my Canon 7d when I'm shooting video. It makes it possible to handhold the camera and focus while in live view. Rubber band straps work ok- not great. The only negative- when you adjust the eye cup, the diopter turns, so then it's out of focus.

This is an excellent tool for DSRL filming, making possible to manual focus while filming even under sunlight. The only problem is that the elastic strap does not look so durable and is a little awkward.

Gets the job done, but can be very cumbersome at times. The design of the straps that keep it attached to the camera feel flimsy, they can also get in the way of the controls, or if you have a camera plate can make quick release not so quick.Quality optics, no complaint there, decent eyepiece.

Comments about Hoodman Cinema Kit HoodLoupe 3.0 LCD Screen Loupe for 3" Displays:
I got this to use with my Canon 7D while taking video.
It has made using the camera in video mode much easier. If I am without a tripod it makes it a lot easier to hold the camera in a more stable position by being able to have my arms bent and bracing the hood against my head. No more worry about glare from lights. The diopter makes it possible to take video without wearing my reading glasses.
I was impressed with the quality of the materials used to make the HoodLoupe. The lens is very clear and focuses incredibly well on the LCD screen. No glare at all, just very clear viewing.
It also comes with a nice case for storing it when not in use.
The only thing I don't like about it is the method in which it is attached to the camera. It attaches in a stable position but it is not easy to put it on or remove it quickly. Going back and forth from using the hood to using the viewfinder is not very smooth. I think with practice I will probably find it a little easier.

What a joke. The loupe part is pretty nice, but the rubber bands snapped the first time I tried to put them on my camera.
No, I did not stretch them too far. The spring clip ate right through them, is what happened. The materials used were not up to the task.
What a complete waste of my time and money. Thanks for nothing, Hood"Man".

If you are using it with the neck strap it becomes difficult to put on and off. Needs to be a better design for attaching to camera. Overall, it makes focusing so much easier and precise. Without it it makes it really hard to do so.

The Hoodloop is perfect for my needs but I really dont like those little bungee cords.
I will look for another way to fix the hoodloop on the LCD screen. So the 4 stars is for the Hoodloop itself.
I recommend this product without the bungee cords.

Comments about Hoodman Cinema Kit HoodLoupe 3.0 LCD Screen Loupe for 3" Displays:
I was very reluctant to spend so much money on something that should be cheaper, but I am glad I did. I like to do closeups of flowers and insects and this is an invaluable tool when used with "live view" and manual focus. Seeing the image on the already high quality LCD screen is much bigger and better than viewing it through the view finder. It has a good diopter for those of us wearing or not wearing glasses. If you buy this, be sure to also buy the 3X eyepiece for another $39. It adds to the already high price, but it makes the tool much better with german optics and all. Only drawback is that this tool does not fit very well in the provided case with either of the eyecups attached.

This is the least expensive LCD finder I'm aware of that has diopter adjustment. The diopter moves out of focus easier than I'd like, but overall I have no major complaints.

I use this to review images while shooting outdoors.. typically wear it around my neck with the included lanyard, and attach temporarily just for review.. I don't use it for video, yet, but it seem comfortable enough to do so.. I don't use the rubber straps, so I don't feel right reviewing that - but they seems a little cheesy...
