The Action-HD GVS 1080p HD Camcorder (Black) from Aiptek is a budget-friendly option for those who crave 1080P HD video. The camcorder records 1080P video, in the H.264 format, to internal and external flash memory, allowing for easy transfer to the Internet for emailing and sharing on social media sites.
Whether you're recording your friends or just yourself, the Action-HD GVS provides user-friendly features like a 3" swivel-reversible LCD display that rotates up to 270° and Night Shot mode for recording in low light situations. The camera's defining feature - gyroscopic stabilization, otherwise known as image stabilization, cuts down on blur from hand shake or a moving subject. And if you're looking to record high quality audio, the camera features a microphone jack for attaching an external mic.

- The Action-HD GVS captures 1080P HD video (30fps). 1080P provides even more information than the usual HD standard of 1080i. The camcorder records in the H.264 format which makes for easy playback on your HDTV and uploading to your computer for sharing on the Internet.

- The Action-HD GVS records up to 480 minutes of HD footage to SD/SDHC memory cards and overflow video to the internal 128MB (90MB for storage) flash memory.

I use this camera for shooting videos for youtube, the stabilizer isn't great but on a tripod the video is awesome for the price. I would recommend an external mic, the internal mic has an annoying buzz.i would recommend this camera to anyone planning to make youtube videos

I purchased this to use for seminars and our web site. Though I have not had time to do that, I have used it for personal shoots and am very pleased with the ease of use, the quality of the video and still shots. I didn't realize that it comes with a remote control so ordered one that I really don't need. However, extra items can sometimes be a good thing. The directions are easy to follow and I highly recommend it!

I went for Aiptek Action-HD GVS after a lenghty research of similar products available in the market and picked this one, which didnt disappoint me at all. I am replacing it for family events with a DSLR and a compact camcorder.
5MP camera works great and the pictures are of good quality. Flash works great though its too bright. Video is stunning and catching all the great moments any time without any hassle.
Buttons are conveniently located. Screen is vibrant and the best feature is that you open the screen and camera is ready for its job. Close it and camera is off. Its also a voice recorder. Catches sound at amazingly good volume.
It comes with a case, lens cover, a tripod. Battery life is great. Comes with external adapter and usb cable along with couple others cables, one of HD out. I wished there was an hdmi out, though not a big issue.

I bought this camera primarily to shoot footage for YouTube and as a vidcam for my outdoor sports where I'd be concerned about breaking my DSLR.This is probaby the best budget 1080p HD digicam for under $160. FLIP, Kodak, and Sanyo have similar products in the this price range. The Sanyo probably offers better footage but none of the others give you the option of an external mic which is crucial when using a cam to create a YouTube review or taking interview footage. Less critical for sports events and outdoor activities. The form is a pistol grip configuration like the Sanyo Xatci. The cam turns on automatically when the LCD screen has been opened. There is no optical viewfinder. [...]The footage I took wasn't nearly as good as the HD vidoe from my DSLR in terms of sharpness, detail and smoothness. But at a 5th of the price, it's to be expected. The camera is mediocre in low or indoors. The footage looks quite dark indoors requiring EV adjustment. Unfortunately when putting the camera in Night Mode or with an EV adjustment of +2, this turns off the anti-shake feature. Which is exactly when you need anti-shake the most. This also makes the footage look noisy and softer. Despite all of these disappointments, the other vidcams in its class are just as bad or worse, making the Action-HD GVS stand out on top. The Kodak and Flip are more portable and easy to use but their footage looks worse. I use the product for Church Video production. Great quality, love the fact that it has a mic input as well as a headphone jack. We're able to use external mics with it. The only draw back is the format it records to is a HD .mov file. Takes a little to convert to edit with premier.Not the best in very low lighting conditions.

For the money, this little cam works great and serves my needs. I wanted to upgrade my Youtube tutorials to the full widescreen, but I didn't want to spend allot of money. I'm happy with my cam. I do recommend getting an extra battery.
