The Sonnet QIO-E34 Professional Universal Media Reader/Writer reads from and writes to just about any memory card. This includes: P2, SxS, CompactFlash, SDHC, XD, SATA storage systems with an eSATA interface, all at high speed. Replacing multiple standalone card readers, the reader's dual P2, SxS, and CF slots enable you to offload files more efficiently.
The included Sonnet 21-in-1 Multimedia Memory Card adapter handles all other types of memory cards. The device copies files between any cards, attached drives, or host computer with aggregate bandwidth up to 250MB/sec. This is much faster than FireWire or USB adapters. QIO-E34 features 4-eSATA ports.
The QIO-E34 SxS slots double as ExpressCard/34 slots, and the P2 slots are compatible with CardBus cards. As a notebook user, this effectively adds 6 expansion card slots. This added compatibility enables you to utilize WiFi, FireWire, USB, Gigabit Ethernet, and other adapters. This is possible since Qio's included interface card extends the PCIe bus outside your computer.

This product is not good. Do not waste your money on it. The power supply went out right away and the tech support was less than helpful. Stick with the brand name.

Comments about Sonnet QIO-E34 Professional Universal Media Reader/Writer:
After reading lots of forums and reviews, I bought the Qio with mixed feelings: I needed it and trusted Sonnet from using other products they make, yet this one seemed to be problematic for quite a few users.
Turns out it's been performing very well and I had not a single crash with it, using mostly SXSPro cards and ex1 cards fitted in adapters. I have not used its P2 cards functionality yet.
The only thing I don't like about it is the positioning of the 12v DC outlets as it can be confusing for people new to the product.

I am a DIT and this was a great buy. It is like having a second computer when it comes to offloading speed. Offloading time is cut in half so you can check clips faster. Also won't get stuck waiting in a parking lot, waiiiiting for the file to copy.
ONE thing. Just don't plan on doing much till the card is offloaded. Little on the fussy side when you and offload with anything else but the QIO. You will kernal panic.

I work as an onset D.I.T. This product has definitely helped my workflow when dealing with lots of cards. It's best feature beyond giving your MacBook pro 4 eSATA ports, is the use of P2 cards on newer Mac operating systems. I am very glad to have this in my setup as a D.I.T.

So as the subject says one of a kind. This is the only box you will need for all
Of your camera media management needs. Very fast to drive transfers for both
Laptops ad towers.
However a little problem exsists with the current firmware that disables one of
the computers processors and does not allow for computer operation for 8min
During boot up (not all machines). I am working with Sonnett to solve the problem
But so far it's not totaly functional.
So be warned. when it works it will be great. But if it's going to be glitchy on your
Machine prepare for head aches.

Comments about Sonnet QIO-E34 Professional Universal Media Reader/Writer:
When you can get your computer to boot and it's not crashing when inserting CF cards the product actually works.
This product is far too quirky. Sometimes it boots, sometimes the system hangs and many crashes.
We used this one day on a production and it was nothing but a nightmare.
Sonnet's manuals and online FAQ are totally inadequate.
Don't waster your time or money.

The install has one quirk ( the first reboot after the install take a while to unpack some of the drivers )
The unit works better than expected on my MacBook Pro.
Off load speeds are very impressive.
