I use this thermometer to get my c-41 chemistry started and develop my negatives! I use old 2-liter soda bottles with my chemistry, so if I need to get this down into the bottle to test temperature of chemicals, I just tape it to a dowel or a bamboo skewer and dip it down into the bottle to get a proper temp. through the transparent bottles. Even if the bottles I used were opaque, the thermometer holds the reading for a few seconds before dropping... so you can pull out the thermometer and still get an accurate reading.

Comments about Delta 1 6" Precision Darkroom Thermometer:

I bought this to use in my darkroom as I am just getting started in developing black and white film. This thermometer was very affordable so I chose this model. It can be submerged in a bucket of water where I keep my chemicals to bring them up to temperature. It is quite precise. Great bang for your buck.

This was just what I was looking for, an accurate, easy-to-read darkroom thermometer. The plastic tube in comes in is handy for protecting it in storage as well. Its only draw-back, as others have noted, is its short length.

I use this product countless times in the dark room while developing my negatives. It is flat and thick which is easier to hold than the skinny thermometers. It reads well when looking at it from all angles. It fit into my student budget [...] I wish it was a few inches longer.

Two identical Delta thermometers were compared at 20C and 40C. They differ by about 0.5C from each other, and are consistent with four other thermometers that I have to better than 1C. As advertised, they are clearly marked and submersible
