The Trailblazer's optical path features Nikon's proprietary lead and arsenic free Eco-Glass lenses and high-performance roof prisms. The lenses have been fully multicoated to ensure maximum light transmission, sharpness, and contrast. The roof prisms are extremely efficient and their trim design enable the binocular to sport a svelte profile.
This easy-to-handle optic is fully waterproof and fogproof, and the exterior is finished with a tactile rubberized coating that provides a secure grip at all times. The centered focus knob is fast, accurate, and easy to use. Eye and sunglass wearers will find solace in the Trailblazers generous eye relief and easy-to-adjust turn-and-slide eyecups.

The binoculars meet my non-expert expectations in terms of image brightness and clarity. Sole reason for not giving them the highest rating is the lens caps. Difficult to understand why Nikon would deploy cheap caps with such a nice product. They're thin and flexible, do not stay attached to the neck strap and are prone to getting lost.
