JVC's entry-level high definition camcorder, the GZ-HM300 HD Everio Flash Memory Camera gets you into HD recording while remaining budget-friendly. The GZ-HM300 features dual SD/SDHC flash memory card slots for recording your footage. Once the first card is full the camera will automatically switch to the second card for seamless recording. When using 32GB cards you can store up to 14 hours and 40 minutes of footage per card - which gives you just over 29 hours of recording time without having to change out your media.
At the heart of the GZ-HM300 you'll find a 1/5.8" 1.37MP CMOS sensor. The sensor works together with the Konica Minolta lens, 20x optical zoom, and JVC's Advanced Image Stabilizer to capture brilliant video and still images. The camera also features a Laser Touch Operation LCD that gives you a scroll bar on the side of the screen, and buttons at the bottom for controlling the camera, keeping the display free from fingerprints and smudges.
Among the user-friendly features of the camera you'll benefit from you'll find Time-Lapse REC, Auto REC, and Face Detection, with JVC's Face Flow Thumbnail. The GZ-HM300 also provides you with an HDMI output, a 2-way grip belt, and an A/V output. And when it's time to edit and share all that footage you've taken the camera comes with Everio MediaBrowser. This software helps you manage, edit, and transfer your files all with an easy to follow workflow.

We got this for Christmas to record our family time. It worked great and we had no issues. Many wrote about the idea that it was not good in low light, but it seemed to be just fine for us.

Comments about JVC GZ-HM300 HD Everio Flash Memory Camera:
I picked this up for [$] Its used mainly for family movies and youtube videos. I havent found anything to complain about except for the lense cap isnt attached and can be easily lost. In low light it has performed fine contrary to what other have said. If your looking for a top of the line camera well then this obviously isnt for you. But If you just want to shoot nice HD videos for personal use its at a very attractive price point. Its very easy to use as it is primarly used by my 13 year old to shoot youtube videos. Battery life, zoom, focus, etc all perfom very well. For the price, we are very satisfied.[...]

Comments about JVC GZ-HM300 HD Everio Flash Memory Camera:
I have bought the camera to remove their own childs. Ideal approaches as home camera. The Small size. Comfortable lies in hand. Sufficient zoom. Big and bright screen. The Good stabilization.
Under we get prettier the illumination - a excellent result. Indoors with weak illumination video little worse. As a whole excellent embedding the money, not much cherish cameras of the standard permit, but already FullHD!

Comments about JVC GZ-HM300 HD Everio Flash Memory Camera:
Nice compact design. Good ergonomics, all controls within reach and menus simple and easy to use. Not sure why adding a fader effect to videos is accessed from a plyaback menu ??? Great HD capture in GOOD light (ie bright incandecent or natural sunlight). Low light performance is pretty lackluster as is typical in low end cameras but for the price I am not complaining.
Would have been nice to have a white balance control just to tweak colors under different lighting conditions. Included software is useful but not required. Overall, it has to be one of the best 1080p cameras out there with a 20x optical zoom in that price range. I am happy!

I just wish I had more controls with this little guy. Bought as a home camcorder and to do somew easy B-roll stuff. I guess that's what you get. But for the price it's a decent little camera.

Comments about JVC GZ-HM300 HD Everio Flash Memory Camera:
Excelent in small size
Exceeded my expectations
Poor software to download
I can not "Drag & Drop" from the SDHC card directly to my laptop. I must use the software included but it is a waste of time because the camera has to be pluged in to the laptop by USB cable.
