This is a great buy! Perfect for those jobs were you know all your going to need is one camera and one lens and don't want to lug around your entire bag. The front pocket is really nice for filters, maps, tickets to events, it looks like it could fit a flash but I've never tried, whatever you need to have handy at a moments notice. The memory card pockets on the inside of the cover are also very handy, you can have three memory cards with you at all times (two in the pockets and one in the camera) so I promise you'll never run out of memory on the job. Plus the All Weather cover is a God send for anyone shooting outdoors in "questionable" conditions. All and all an awesome bag and worth every penny.
Also, for anyone out there like me wondering if their camera will fit, a 30D with a 70-200mm f/2.8L fits perfectly. Hope it helps!

One other post said the bag is large enough for a DSLR and a 70-200 2.8 lens. Well, yes but just barely. I bought this to take to the US Open and it was simply to snug for me. The camera and lens will fit, but very tight. I would opt for something slightly larger if you want to carry anything at all. The strap has no padding and is uncomfortable to carry a big lens and camera. Well made, affordable but not for me...

If all you need to bring is a single body and a single telephoto lens (up to 6" long), then this is the perfect bag. Easy in and easy out. Fits into a backpack. Another great Lowepro product. Money well spent.

Bought this for my Canon EOS with my 15-85mm with hood attached; fits with room to spare. Zip pocket can hold charger and cable; there's room in the top flap for memory cards, business cards. Would prefer higher quality fabric, but it is sufficient, and lightweight. Needs strap with cushioning. Also would prefer if it had clip closure in addition to zipper. Good buy for the money.

I am using this bag with a Sony a55. In general, the bag is a good fit. The adjustable divider fits with a number of different lenses. I do wish the interior was a little softer.

I love Lowepro - it is a great bag with everything you need
It is protecting the camera and even in rain there is a rain cover - I had to pay 300$ once to get a Lens repaired after I carried it in an cheaper non Lowe Bag - I learned my lesson on the hard way.
The protection is also great and it is light weight and you can use it in different positions still having a very fast access to the camera.
The Big brother Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW brougt my camera trough a 4 weeks Safari in Africa .... with walking, and running several miles.

Great solution for hiking when used as a chest pack for instant accessibility while still be stable and resisting side-to-side motion. This solution leaves my back free to carry a small hydration pack with trail snacks. AW cover a plus should I encounter wet weather. Carries my Canon 7D body with EF 70-200 zoom mounted, no problem.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Zoom 55 AW Bag (Black):
I needed a bag to carry my 80-200 attached to my D200. I also needed something customizable so I could carry an extra lens and/or a flash. This bag fits that description perfectly.
To give you an idea of the space in this bag. This bag fits my D200 w/ RRS L-Bracket, hand strap, and 80-200 2.8 with hood reversed PERFECTLY. It literally hugs this combo like a glove. It's not uncomfortably tight but it is snug with no slack. I was contemplating buying this or the Toploader 75 Pro. I'm glad I bought this one because since I don't have a battery, pack, there would be a lot of slack with the 75 Pro. Also I like how this bag has less width than the 75 so it will be more comfortable to casually carry this on your shoulder.
The front pocket can fit a flash but it has absolutely no padding so if you are putting anything in there that is fragile, it will probably get banged up if you bump into anything. If you want to carry a flash, I suggest buying a slip-lock lens case large enough to fit one. This bag allows you to hook up two slip-lock attachments. The 75 only allows you one. I have the Lens Case 1 and I keep my 18-70 w/hood reversed in there.
For the price, the quality of the bag is excellent. The padding is great, the size is perfect, it is customizable, and it looks great. The weather cover is a plus and a welcome feature but I don't take my stuff out in the rain anyway.
The top flap holds two memory cards.
If you don't have a battery pack, just buy this bag and skip the 75 as it is designed strictly for pro bodies or bodies with battery packs. Slack in a camera bag is no good and defeats the purpose of protection. I have a feeling the 70-200 2.8 might be a very tight fit or it might not fit at all so please use my combo example when deciding if your combo will fit in this bag.
The only thing I would recommend you do is buy an accessory strap as the one that comes with the bag is basic and uncomfortable. I bought the Op/Tech USA SOS mini. It is perfect and it makes the bag feel even lighter than it is.
I am very happy with this bag and I highly recommend it.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Zoom 55 AW Bag (Black):
Use for long days walking around---can carry camera, pull out quickly when needed.
Well made and well padded.
Easy access to camera.
Adequate pouches for minor accessories.
Main compartment has one divider, that can be velcroed in different positions, but does not give much support for camera body---in effect, camera lens rests on bottom of bag. Additional dividers and/or foam inserts would be useful to adapt to shape of camera.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Zoom 55 AW Bag (Black):
I use this bag by putting the loops on the side through my waistpack belt when I travel. I have shoulder pain and cannot use shoulder packs, so this worked out perfectly for me. It was very easy to carry up and down hills and steps and was easily accessible. I used the side loops instead of the belt loop because then it didn't hang too low and interfere with walking.

Comments about Lowepro Toploader Zoom 55 AW Bag (Black):
This is a good bag. I had been looking for a holster bag for ages to complement my backpack, trying to figure which one would best suit my needs. I was going to buy a slightly cheaper Lowepro Toploader, but when I compared them in a shop I was impressed by the level of padding and other features of this one, while not being that much more expensive. I have had it now for about three months.
The length of this bag provides a lot of flexibility. You can comfortably carry a good size zoom on a pro or semi-pro body, e.g., a Canon 7D with a 70-300 IS, or 70-200 f2.8. You can also have a shorter lens mounted, with a second lens in the bottom of the bag. The front pocket is big enough to carry a good flash, e.g., the 580 EX II, but will not zip up unless it's only the flash (i.e., it will not fit in in its protective case). As there's no padding on the external pocket, this means you have to be rather careful if doing this.
I recently went for a two day trip where I took my 400D with the 24-105 L mounted on the camera in the top of the bag, with the 70-300 IS in the bottom under the protective divider (both with hoods), and the 580 EX II in the external pocket. The fit was tight, but comfortable enough. The bag itself is still small enough to carry inside a smallish travel bag with other gear. So quite a flexible option.
The only reason I rated this 4 instead of 5 stars is that build quality is not quite as good as I hoped. There have been a few loose threads, and the shoulder strap is OK, but not great. The part that goes over your shoulder has a rubberised backing, but it's just mounted on the standard mesh strap. The mesh itself has shown a fair bit of fraying, without a real lot of use. A wider padded shoulder section would be preferable. The belt mount is solid, but a little unrealistic for practical use given the size of the bag and the weight you're likely to be carrying. The hand grip is good.
A double zip is provided on the main pocket, but only a single zip on the external pocket - a double zip here would also be preferable. The overall build quality seems good, with no serious problems evident.

I NEEDED A RELIABLE AND COMPACT BAG TO PROTECT AND CARRY MY CANON EOS 7D COUPLED WITH THE EF 100-400MM ZOOM WITH HOOD AND THIS BAG DOES THE JOB PERFECTLY.
THE FRONT POCKET ACCOMODATES A SPARE BATTERY, LENS CAP ETC. ANOTHER SMALL POCKET IN THE INSIDE OF THE COVER IS USEFUL FOR SPARE MEMORY CARDS.
