The Fujifilm S2550HD 12 MP Digital Camera (Black) is a whole lotta camera--12 megapixel resolution, an 18x zoom lens (28-504mm 35mm equivalent) for shooting everything from landscapes to wildlife and sports, 720p HD video with sound, and dual image stabilization plus sensitivity up to ISO 6400(*) to give you sharp, beautifully exposed pictures in any kind of light.
Face detection, blink detection and smile detection help you capture the best pictures possible of friends and family, by recognizing your subject and exposing the photo when they're smiling, but not when they're blinking. The SR Auto Scene Recognition will know when you're shooting a portrait, landscape, macro shot, backlit portrait, night photo or night portrait, and optimize all settings automatically for those situations, including activating the automatic flash. Tracking auto focus and an easy-to-use panorama mode are professional features not commonly found in point-and-shoot cameras, but you got'em with the S2550.
But, what if you're the hands-on kind of photographer who likes to choose exposure, focus, etc. for yourself? There's full manual control for you, my friend.
Note! *3200 & 6400 ISO only at 3 megapixels or lower

After ruining my DSLR and having become tired of changing lenses too often, I began to research fix lens cameras. For the last four months I read all that I could and when I read the reviews of the S2550 and saw the price, i bought it. No regrets so far. As a serious amateur, I use it primarily for landscape and artistic still life shots. Some sport shots where grandchildren are involved varioius other areas. Once I settled on the most usuable settings for me (there are many options)the fun began. Great color and detail for a less than $200 camera. Having shots a Canon G6 for about five years, I was amazed at how much better this camera is. Fast shutter speed, a usuable EVF, a good size LCD, and a camers size that is perfect for me.
I do find the manuel a bit confusing in layout but I seldom need it. Also, it would be nice to have lens threads for filters but if I need one, I just hold over the lens.
i bought a set of rechargable batteries with the camera and have no complaints with battery life. Not using the high speed settings all the time helps extend battery life.
I would recommend this camera to any non-professional photog out there.

As an amateur photographer I wanted something that could shoot the fast moving bodies and objects associated with sports. Although I haven't gone to any sporting activities since I received my camera I am impressed with some of the other features, namely the ability to capture two images with and without the flash.

Camera needs a cover on the back so that buttons are not pushed accidently. Also need a lock button on the mode dial on the top so it is not changed accidently. Currently using scoth tape to solve the problem. View finder could be brighter.

I have only had the S2550SD for a week, but it is working great. I have recorded a play and shot over a hundred stills. I was shooting my grand daughter in the Catfish Festival Little Princess Pageant at over 20 yards away using the zoom and the camera let me know she blinked when the photo was taken. That is something for a camera in this price range. I would recommend it anyone just starting in photography.

I have a wonderful Olympus Evolt E-500, but sometimes that's just a little too much to tote around. This little camera does everything I want to do and I can pack it around in my purse or even sling it around my shoulder and jump on the bike.
It's an easy to use camera, wonderful zoom, and the colors are beautifully vibrant. It was better than I even expected.

I used to own a Sony Cybershot, and although I'm no professional photographer, I always wanted to go for something a little more robust, without spending a lot of money on it. So I was very pleased when I found this camera. It wasn't so expensive, and yet it has a lot of nice features, like an 18x optical zoom, panoramic photos, and its user-friendly interface makes it not so hard for beginners like me to take some good quality photos. Plus, it works with AA rechargeable batteries, which is a plus when you find yourself in the middle of nowhere without a socket to charge your battery.

This is my 2nd Fujifilm digital camera. I loved the first one and this one is even better. The ONLY things I would change are the rather slow shutter speed and the noise the zoom makes when you're recording video.

For the most part Fuji doesn't get the credit it deserves... Fuji color reproduction is as good or better than some high end Canons and Nikon's... This model lives up to those color quality standards...

The camera contains great features and takes nice pictures, but I feel the way to control aperture and shutter speed is not intuitive. The 18x zoon is great.

I have three of these cameras that I use in our engineering lab. Point-and-shoot for the easy stuff. Manual mode(s) for the difficult stuff. Works great.

We use it for basic pictures but are looking forward to take it to the limit. I believe it offers us a decent amount of features but probably more than we would ever need. I am still trying to perfect the zooming capabilities and taking the correct shot, Thanks Fujifilm

This camera has enough zoom that I can photograph my Grandson playing his sports, or catch a picture of the squirrel in my backyard eating the birdseed. It is easy to learn....you don't have to be a professional to use it. I am excited about using the extra features of different scene choices. Great Christmas gift that will help capture memories of the most precious things in life.....my Family.
