I've only had this camera a couple of weeks, but I'm already excited aboout it. On my trial run, I took about 80 scenery shots and the ease of use and quality of the photos were great. The memory card (purchased separately) fits into my printer slot and transfers to my editing software without a hitch. The photos look great and are of fine quality. I'm pretty convinced this camera knows what it's doing. Kudos to Nikon for including a really good owner's/user's manual. I can understand the great features without having to go online and search. The only glitch I've had is that I accidentally hit the "power" button sometimes without intending to do so. I've been researching cameras for about a year and I'm glad I bought this one. Thanks to Nikon, thanks to B&H, and thanks to my son-in-law for recommending B&H and this camera.

Main reason for this Camera purchase was the fact that it uses AA batteries instead of a rechargeable cell. Yes it makes the body a bit bigger than a typical compact point and shoot camera but it beats being caught off-guard with a depleted battery. Also, it was bought for the wife and she always forgets to charge it.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix L110 Digital Camera (Black):
I received the camera for Christmas and have been taking videos and pictures since. The pictures turn out very good, but indoors you do need to use the flash or the colors come out weird. The video is good, but sounds aren't very loud. I have been using the standard settings. I haven't figured out yet how to do action pictures without getting blurry, but I guess it would help if I would read the rest of the manual. All in all it is a good camera with lots of features.

The Nikon L110 is a niffty little point & shoot (mik en druk) camera. The pictures are very clear and sharp. I purchased the camera to be used on short trips that do not require my SLR.

This camera is simple and easy to use but incredibly sophisticated. I am in love already and I've barely had a chance to really use it. everything works amazing! the one thing I would really like is an eye piece. It's a little awkward taking artistic shots staring at a screen.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix L110 Digital Camera (Black):
I chose this on threee key features. Firstly the lens is a good size and depth. Secondly the zoom range is incredible for something this small. Thirdly it looks a bit like an SLR. It's also easier to handle than a smaller point 'n' shoot.
I forgot to pack my Nikon D80 on holiday and decided to buy a basic camera for family pics, while away. My plan originally was to return the camera if it didn't blow me over, and on the basis of the price paid I was expecting to be returning it (after the holiday of course).
What I like about the L110 is the solid feel and look. I love the fact it looks like a semi-serious camera, focusing more on optics than matching your favourite colour.
Straight out of the box I was up and running quite quickly without any consultation to the manual. The menus are a bit similar to the D80 I already own but I found this intuitive from the moment I first clicked.
One thing I noticed is that this camera does tend to over expose (my D80 does too). I was pleased to find this has exposure compensation and set this at 1.3-2.0 under exposure for just about all external shots. This worked particularly well with the flash, which is nicely powered for this camera, and seems to avoid red eye.
The flash is manually raised to activate so you can decide quickly whether you're going for flash or no flash. There is nothing more frustrating than the camera flashing away when you're photographing a building hundreds of feet tall. I liked being able to command the flash manually. Most simple cameras bundle the control within menus.
The zoom range is outstanding for a camera of this class. One concern I had was accidentally going into the digital zoom range (beyond 15x). However the camera won't do this without you knowing about it as it stops at 15x and you have to zoom again to go beyond this. Why anyone would want a digital zoom, particularly when the optical one goes to 15x is beyond me. No doubt to preach ridiculous zoom ranges to people who don't know enough to know they're useless.
One concern I had is that at 15x zoom, camera shake would be a major issue. However I was pleased to notice the camera has a stabilization feature which, by the sounds, appears to be in the lens itself. This helps maintain a steady image for acceptable zoom shots without too much blur.
I found the zoom level lagged a bit too much, tending to use near full zoom or full wide. It was a bit of a pain setting an exact zoom length.
Focus was generally quite good. This allows you to focus on a non centred subject and retain focus and exposure while recomposing the shot. Most cameras seem to offer this.
I also used the video feature of this camera. Recording is convenient via a one-touch dedicated video button. I was less happy with the video recordings. The quality was good while it retained focus but I didn't realize that focus would lock for the entire recording. There is an option to set continuous focus which once activated seemed to do the trick. I was just a bit surprised that this is an opt in feature rather than opt out. Perhaps to preserve battery life, as the autofocus probably consumes vast amounts of battery life.
Playback control of the video was a bit unintuitive. Basic playback was a breeze but going forward and backward at speed through the clip was not intuitive.
This camera came with some top of line Energizer batteries which I expected to replace after a couple hundred shots. In fact they just kept on going, only running out because I stupidly left the camera connected to a computer which bypasses the sleep mode. The batteries are very expensive to replace but I'm convinced are worth the extra for convenience. They truly last way longer than conventional alkaline.
Use AA batteries, this camera will not let you down even when you've forgotten to pack some spares. You can buy these just about anywhere. I was getting through standard Duracells in about 2 days of use which is very reasonable. Not sure if rechargeables would be a good alternative, or indeed whether they'd work at all.
One thing I did not like at all, was that the memory slot is with the batteries. If you're out of memory and open the door housing this and the batteries, the batteries may just fall out. You must remember to have the camera upside down or on its side. This is very inconvenient if you're in the 'field'. The solution of course is to use bigger memory cards and wipe them occasionally so you don't run out.
Overall I'm now adding this camera to my semi-serious collection and will consider using it as a compact alternative to my D80. The quality of images is great and I might just get back into taking more casual photos again. I hate lugging my SLR and gadgets everywhere, so ended up just missing out on photo ops. No longer though - this Coolpix is a great tradeoff and actually works so much better than many smaller cameras.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix L110 Digital Camera (Black):
I recently purchased this as a gift for my 60 Year old mother.
She is able to use this camera, which is kind of a big deal.
She has arthritic hands and often has trouble holding anything for any period of time. She has had small pocket-sized point and shoots before, but either out of fear of dropping them or because the buttons are too small to use, the cameras collect dust.
What I'm getting at is A. This camera is very easy to hold, even with arthritic hands. B. The buttons are large, easy to press, and there aren't that many of them.
The image stabilization is pretty good, it's quiet, but I still ended up with some blur if I wasn't using the flash indoors.
Overall: It was one of those gifts that you sort of wish you had bought for yourself.
