The size is perfect for most of the messenger bags and backpacks, even some large purse. I use it to hold D5000 with 18-200 on, plus 10-24 and 35/1.8, plus lens hoods and an extra battery. This is perfect for a casual DSLR user. Notice the color is not exactly the "orangish" red as shown on the picture, but rather more towards the "red" red.

Bought this padded insert to go into a standard back pack for traveling (makes carrying your camera less conspicuous). Works perfectly to hold my Nikon D300 with 18-200 attached, plus 60mm macro lens and SB-400 flash. Interior is very soft and adjustable. Highly recommended!

I store my Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16, 50mm prime and Nikon 24-120 easily in this bag. It's perfect for sliding into a messenger bag - a bit narrower in depth so that the camera doesn't stick out from a normal bag. It's got padding on all the sides which is great! My only comment would be to make the padding beefier? My M-Rock bag is much heavier duty padded, so I feel more confident shoving that into my backpack. But all in all, I love it!

The camera case fit perfectly into our backpack...just as advertised. Padding was very good so we didn't have to worry about damage to our camera during our trip. It left us plenty of room for other articles...Using the backpack kept us from having to carry a separate camera bag and ultimately saved us money as we didn't have to pay for another piece of luggage on our airline flight.

This is great for me! I couldn't decided or find a cute 'girlie' camera bag I liked- so I decided on this because I can put it in any bag of my choice! It fits all my equipment which is :

Also, I like this better than the inserts cause it has a bottom on it & it closes!

I recently used this on a trip to the Philippines. It was the perfect fit for my Canon dSLR with 2 lenses and a flash. Very durable little pouch, looks like it will last for many trips to come. Fits into the carry-on piece very nicely.

The zipper is absolutely necessary - to the point where I would never get an insert without one! It fits sideways in my bicycle pannier, so the zippered top keeps my gear from falling out while riding. I put this in my backpack for day hikes and it keeps my camera gear protected and perfectly isolated from the rest of the stuff in there. I usually prefer black or gray to stay discreet, but in this case the bright red is useful for locating in a crowded bag.
Gear I travel with in it (and can still zipper shut): nikon d90 with tokina 11-16 attached, nikon 35 1.8, and nikon 70-300 vr. This is a snug fit with all the hoods in there too, but I don't have to force the zipper to close it.
Only wish would be to have a small zipper pocket on the top to keep an extra memory card, lens cap, etc.
