In addition to the camera's bright eye-level optical reflex viewfinder, the Rebel T2i also features Advanced Live View (with a dedicated Live view/Movie button) for composing and editing your stills and video using the T2i's 3.0" Clear View LCD, which contains a whopping 1.04 million dots of resolving power.
Additional image enhancing tools include Auto Lighting Optimizer and Highlight Tone, which further improve detail in the highlight, mid-tone, and shadow areas in both stills and videos. For low-light shooting, the Rebel T2i features an ISO range of 100-6400, which can be expanded to an equivalent of 12800 when necessary, and there's a Quick Control Screen that enables easy access to frequently used settings.
The Canon EOS Rebel T2i records imagery onto a choice of SD memory card, SDHC memory card, or SDXC Memory Cards and powers off an LP-E8 lithium-ion battery, which is good for up to 550 still exposures or 1 hour and 40 minutes of video recording. The EOS Rebel T2i is compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S optics. This kit comes with an image stabilized Canon EF-S 18-135mm IS zoom lens, which has an equivalent focal range of a 28.8 - 216mm lens on a full-frame (24x36mm) 35mm camera.
The Canon DIGIC 4 Image Processor dramatically speeds up the entire EOS Rebel T2i's camera operations for intuitive operation and offers improvements in both fine detail and natural color reproduction. It works in concert with the EOS Rebel T2i's CMOS Image Sensor to achieve phenomenal levels of performance in nearly any situation.
Along with its manual controls, the EOS Rebel T2i allows for full use of Canon EF and EF-S lenses, including Macro and Fisheye, providing a plethora of shooting options once reserved only for still photography. The resulting HD video is a standout in its beautiful depth-of-field characteristics and remarkable capture capability under poor lighting conditions. In a first for EOS cameras, a Movie Crop function is included; An SD-quality movie (640 x 480) can be cropped to the equivalent of about 7x magnification of regular shooting.
Video can be captured at a number of resolutions and frame rates for numerous applications. It can capture 1920 x 1080 Full HD video at frame rates of 24 (23.976), 25 or 30 (29.97) frames per second, for up to 4GB per clip. Movies are saved as MOV files and can be viewed in Full HD through the EOS Rebel T2i's HDMI output. Other recording sizes include HD at 1280 x 720 (50/60 (59.94) fps) or SD/VGA at 640 x 480 (50/60 (59.94) fps). The EOS Rebel T2i has a built-in microphone for simple mono recording and stereo sound can be recorded through a self-powered external microphone.
Additionally, the EOS Rebel T2i has a high-precision, 9-point AF system utilizing a high precision, f/2.8 cross-type center point. The 9-point AF system uses both normal and high-precision focus depending on the aperture and available light. The 9 focus points can be chosen automatically or manually selected.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera w/ EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens:
After much research I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a new camera. B+H has a great price and I felt safe buying from them on line (Lots of Low-price scam sites out there--so be carefull)
I suggest bumping up to the 18-135mm longer lens package!!! Also, Camera Shoots great in Low light using the "P" setting and then set ISO to "AUTO". I am Looking forward to getting a fast "Prime" lens soon, maybe macro. I shoot mostly INDOORS and try to NEVER use a flash...I believe a flash takes the soul right out of all shots.

I bought this to replace my point and shoot camera. The ability to change lenses and more control of the camera itself were the main driving factors for this purchase. So far I have been very happy with the camera and lens combination. I look forward to learning and growing with this camera.

The 18-135 lens is a great upgrade for someone starting out. The connector ring is metal instead of plastic like the 55mm starter lens. Gives a good range and sharp pictures for an entry level lens.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera w/ EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens:
I upgrated from an XSi. I upgraded for two reasons: the ability to record video and better low light shooting. I had a G3 in the past and my family has enjoyed the little video clips. The hi-def video has been great (a BIG improvement). I'be been experimenting with low light shooting. There are many events where I can't use a flash or the flash doesn't help. The greater ISO range and other improvements have been a noticable improvement.
In general, I think the camera (and lens) take great photos. I specifically purchased this combo to get the 18-135mm. I has a 18-55mm with the XSi and so far I think the extra money has been well work it (greater magnification and great shots).

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera w/ EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens:
This is the first slr I have owned and so far I have been very pleased. For an amateur photographer like myself I think it's tough to find anything better. I was initially hesitant about its small size and light weight, but for someone who travels, it makes it that much better to carry around all day. Takes very crisp, high resolution pictures. You do need to learn a bit about photography, but it opens up the camera for very impressive pictures. The 18/135mm lens is a great everyday lens for a beginner. In good light, the 50-135 range takes awesome pictures. The image stabilizer is a life saver for people without tripods. Even in lower light, the lens does well at ISO 3200. You definitely need to learn about white balance, ISO speed, aperture, and shutter speed to get the most out of this camera and lens. The LCD screen is great both inside and outside in the sun.

I had borrowed a similar camera from a friend and loved it. I have just started learning about this camera and will be taking my first photo class soon. Everything was as mentioned online and as discussed with Mike-customer service agent who assisted me. Lots of great experience and information, did not pressure into anything extra offered.

A camera that does everything you need at a great price. The DVDs I bought with it have really helped me work out how to use it for stills and videos. I aim to buy the underwater housing and other kit to use this to shoot dive videos and stills as well as using it above the water on land. Everything I hoped for when I bought it. A very happy shopper.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T2i Digital SLR Camera w/ EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens:
First DSLR Camera--upgraded from Canon Powershot Elph, which I was disappointed with, and then I used a friend's Canon EOS Rebel SLR, and I converted into an instant believer- day and night differences. And I'm still very fond of the old fashion Olympus 35mm.
Camera has light weight(body) and well structured lenses, overall great constructed device. Easy to operate and adjust between functions, once you learn how to you all the functions properly; the Canon manual and youtube are excellent resources to get you learning the basics. Lenses is extremely versatile, offering great pictures at a distance and up close.
You will learn to appreciate the science behind taking a good picture, as well as why some pictures are good and some, well they're not.

Personal use and learning photography. Great kit to initiate to learn to takes more serious pictures. It has a great size for those not used to a DSLR and the photo quality is amazing when leaving the point and shot cameras. The kit with the 18-135mm lens creates a huge range to reach, and for it helps creates a great combination.

After buying the earlier Rebel low-end cameras and a 5D Mark II for my office, I was surprised at the improved quality of the T2i over the early purchases. I thought I would never be the same after enjoying the 5D Mark II (my staff gets to use it most of the time) but I am very happy carrying around my T2i. Don't go less than the EF-S 18-135mm lens. It's a great value and you get great photos.

I have just started in the field of photography, and was looking for the 'perfect' entry level camera. This camera is excellent. The lens is very durable and built much better than the 18-55. The camera is lightweight and easy to hold for extended periods of time. One negative is that the video doesn't have autofocus.

I'm a student who has been using a bad point and shoot for a while and finally decided to get a DSLR. This camera is everything and more. I was considering getting the T3I but this was a better choice. The camera is amazing, lightweight, and very ergonomic. I had to figure out whether to get the 18-55 lens or the 18-135. If you have a little extra money get the 18-135. It is a much better lens and is built much more solidly than the 18-55. That said the 18-55 is still a good lens.

As a video guy finally jumping into the DSLR video world, this is a good camera to get the hang of learning the ins and outs or shooting video with DSLR. Obviously there are more advanced cameras out there that take better pictures and video, but this is a good entry level DSLR to learn with.
