THe best I have ever used and I have used a few of them. Several gitzo's, several Bogan's etc. The easiest to adjust. Just works.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
I brought this item hoping that it would do miracle compare to a ballhead. It has impressive design and capabilities. But these capabilities are more useful if you want to do panoramic work without having a dedicated panorama head. A simple Ballhead is more faster and easier to use otherwise.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
Simply the best tripod head I've used in 15 years working as a professional photographer specializing in architectural and interior work. Light weight and portable which is key for a location photographer, but extremely stable and precise, equally important for the architectural photographer.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
I've wanted this panhead since I first saw it, and it does not disappoint. I had read some feedback about this product which made me slightly nervous at first, namely that the bubble levels are not calibrated, and that the knobs have an unsettling amount of wobble. My T-level is perfect, and while the 2 levels on the top plate were off, they are easily calibrated with a small screwdriver. 2 mins. later: calibrated. The top bubble levels are a bit sluggish, but once you understand how they respond, it is easy to work with it. As for the wobble, there is some when the handles are loose, but they are rock solid when the knobs are tight.
I opted for the PHQ 3 for (hopefully) added stability, which seems to be ample. The Archa-Swiss QR plate is nicely machined, and all the actions are super smooth and precise. The unit is a bit heavy, but not really a problem. Also, pretty expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. Will mainly be used for landscape and architectural photography.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
Versatile for most uses in particular to level the camera on uneven surfaces. On a recent trip to New Zealand one of my tripod leg locks broke so levelling the camera by extending the legs was not always an option, however with the 5-way head design and spirit levels levelling the camera was quick and easy allowing me to make panoramic images without the usual horizon line driftin up or down. Also being able to fold the handle made the head more compact and transportable. With only 1 month's use I cannot fault this head and look forward to using it in the future.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
My first job with this head was at a new resturant last week. First I did food and then interior and exterior shoots. With a modified baseplate I was able to quickly do all the photos without any hassel. All the movements are very smooth, almost like a fluid head. The levels are to small to be of much use. I have also attached an elastic band at the base of the head to hold the folding handels in places under transport.

I found this the most easy to level tripod head I have ever used. I have been photographing Architecture for many years now and this is hands down the best piece of equipment I have bought in a long time.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
Extra pan control makes it easy to align handles how you want them and still have another movement for panning. Handles do have a tendency to loosen every so often, but I personally don't have a problem with that. I believe the price is somewhat high so 4 stars for value.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
i recently took this head to a hot air balloon competition. as you can imagine while the balloons were approaching and passing i was shooting both individual shots and panoramas. this head made it easy. i could set the levels quickly and accurately and not miss a shot. the levels are easy to read and dead on. it was also a cinch to set the drag in different directions to allow me to swing and get individual shots as they presented. this is a high quality well built piece of equipment.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
the wide range of head movement is very useful for precision photo stitching work. especially for single row non horizontal sequences.
weight is very reasonable, even on a gitzo carbon fiber. movements are smooth and tight. great stability. knobs lock well.
as an avid photo stitcher and experienced tripods user i am happy with this purchase and its unique possibilities.
cons:
i found that some of the bubble levels are not firmly attached nor accurately set(!).
the folding handles are a drag. i'd much prefer to have them them shorter and in one piece.
the upper angle for "normal" horizontal photography is very limited.
angle marks can be thinner and closer (on all sides).
this is a well build piece of gear, however, if you do not need the unique features, i'd probably go with a gitzo low profile head for better fluid rotation and accurate leveling.

Primary use the head is for precise architectural work and landscape photography. I recently purchased this unit and have not thoroughly tested it but it seems solidly built with loads of positioning options. I had a question about its design and contacted Induro. I received a call within minutes to answer my question.

Comments about Induro PHQ3 PHQ Series 5-Way Panhead:
This panhead is a very handy for field use, where you need a quick set up and need to have the flexibility to adjust the camera/head in virtually any direction. The ability to rotate the top plate after quickly leveling the head (regardless of tripod overall positioning) comes in handy for panoramic shots. The head is quite sturdy and seems to support heavy loads well. The folding tilt handles make it easy to carry / pack the head mounted on the tripod, but because they are not one, solid piece, there is a bit of play in the tilt handles which can make small adjustments a little bit difficult. I find this innovative head to be a valuable addition to my support systems and far superior to a ball head where precise alignment is needed.
