My Mom likes the first one I bought so I gave it to her as a gift. My Dad has a Panasonic that offers exactly the same resolution but it costs four to five hundred bucks. The video quality is superb. We shot both in low light and natural day light and then played the clips on the 42" TV. We hooked it up with the TV using the cable coming in the package. We manage to use major features without even referencing the user manual. The Panasonic model has a 35mm lens. I think this one is at 50mm or 75mm. That means you'll need to stand further away from your subject sometimes. This doesn't bother me much though since I'm used to fixed focus lens on my camera. The video is shot in .mov QuickTime format. You can upload to YouTube directly from the software in the package but it takes a long, long time. I definitely recommend this camcorder because it packs the most important features at an amazing low price: High resolution, easy hook up with computer, TV and other devices, and standard image format. Thanks for this great product!

This camera is really for home user. Very good price is the best in the shops. The image quality is very good at XVGA size, but shows difficulty when recording in HD because it shrinks the image a bit jerky, and full HD is worse. All the elements work perfectly as the HD cable. If you live in Mexico the custom price is somewhat high but still cheaper than if you buy here.[...]

Comments about Aluratek AHDVC03F CINECAM HD 1080p DV Camcorder:
I'm using this camcorder for everyday usage to video tape my kids and family. It's hi-def, optical zoom, with HDMI, can complain for the price I paid. It's not the same quality as a $500 HD Cam but this is a really good entry level that won't break your bank. If you lose it, who cares it was affordable. Great for outdoors.

I like the Camera It's light, nice looking easy to use.Downsides: If you're not in good lighting your video will come out dark and the auto focus isn't perfect. But hey, it's [$] it's a good deal.
