Soft metal - easy to strip threads

We use Litepanels 1x1 fixtures in a rental capacity, so they get used by a lot of different folks and the thing that always breaks on them is this piece. So I am replacing them often. The problem seems to be that the metal is soft and if you over-tighten the spud knob you can strip or damage the screw threads very easily. It's easy to *not* do this if you are aware of the problem, but it's not really tough enough to withstand a rental environment. I would *not* recommend this to another rental shop, but for individual use they are probably fine as long as you're careful.

I bought this to repair one of my LitePanels which was damaged during one of my many production trips. It was simple to install and now I don't have to gaff my light to the stand!!

What is the size of the bolt/threads that attaches to a light yoke? 3/8-16? bigger or smaller?
The thread size of the bolt that attaches to a light yoke on the Litepanels TVMP Adapter with Handle is 3/8"-16. The thread size of the handle is 1/4"-20, and the stud receiver is 5/8".
