The Samsung PN50C680 50" 1080p Plasma TV has the features that videophiles demand at a down-to-earth price. Plasma technology combines the ability to show rich, lush colors with the smoothest moving images possible.

This was my first TV purchase so I did quite a bit of shopping around before I went with this big guy. To be fair, I'm no techie so I didn't make the purchase according to every spec available. I did make the decision based on these general criteria; brand, size, 3D, reviews, cost and customer service with the latter having equal consideration to everything else. Dealing with the customer service department was satisfactory from B&H, I was trying to spend almost $1k and they couldnt figure out who to send me to via phone to make the payment, so I went ahead and purchased it online to save the hassle. Overall I thought their customer service could have been a bit more professional by not putting me through all the transfers and then back into the main system to press 1 yada yada yada, but I was satisfied when they were helping me and suspect it was just operator error and wont hold that against the company. Now the bummer part was the wait, it took 11 daysish to get it, but it has paid off in the end as this TV is absolutely brilliant. I dont need all the bells and whistles, but its got them and i dont mind having them.

Wanted the newest technology of 3D without breaking the bank. Great Value. Had a 50" Panasonic 1080p HDTV before this. The Samsung has a much sharper definition than my old Panny. However the Panny has richer color and I liked the THX, however crystal clear picture on the Samsung outshines any colour differences. It does take a little tweaking with the settings on the dynamic mode. The movies in 3D are stunning! Still waiting to experience live sporting events. It's a better value than the Panasonic which is much higher priced.
