The Archos 32 internet tablet is a palm-sized, affordable 8GB Internet media tablet that's powered by Android. This tablet gives you the power of a computer, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, gaming, music, videos, photos and more. Enjoy a wide selection of apps too!
When you're surfing the web with the tablet the 3.2 touch screen display, virtual keyboard, and the ability to open and send attachments makes mobile browsing and email easy. And unlike many portable devices the 32 internet tablet not only displays your photos and videos, but it gives you the tools to shoot them as well. Other highlights of the device include connection to your TV, tethering with your 3.5G and Bluetooth enabled phone, and streaming from your PC to the tablet using Samba and UPnP protocols.
Because you want to enjoy your videos and TV shows without re-encoding them with complicated software, Archos makes your life easier by supporting audio and video formats beyond the standard ones of Android. It can even display subtitles and alternate audio tracks, all you have to do is drag, drop, and play
What other functions were created for you? An internet connected photo frame application with 3D transitions, and the ability to sync your pictures with your Facebook, Picasa, or Flickr account

First, this device makes a great audio and video player. The video player, especially, is impressive for its speed and the audio player/browser is very slick with a "coverflow" type interface. Just like other Archos products, you don't need a special program to sync your media to your device - just drag your files on in whatever structure you want. I will say that volume output was lower than I would want (I usually listen at 95% volume) and I do wish there was a memory card slot.
The web browser/email client/etc are very handy too, but the resolution on this device is not great and most pages/emails will require plenty of scrolling.
With the standard base of Android, this is by far the least buggy Archos product I have owned. There are too many benefits to this being an Android device to list here. I will say, though, that users may be expecting to get all the same apps they can get on their phone. This is the single biggest complaint I have: You cannot access the Google app store (maybe after some hacking). This means you won't be able to install most Android applications you hear about - only those Archos has in its own app store. I generally don't miss the apps simply because most need constant internet access/gps/phone to do anything interesting anyway.
So, remember to think of it as a perfectly-sized media player first, and an Android device second.

My wife got me this guy for our anniversary she knew it was what i wanted. And let me start by saying maybe I just expected to much from this product. The first thing I noticed is that it felt so lite i like things to have a little heft to them, its my experience that when things have a little heft there a more quality product but i could be wrong. The second thing i noticed was the screen seems so small. In comparison to my wife's second gen ipod touch the screen seems micro you wouldn't think .3 would make a difference but there is a world of difference. the camera on this thing is a nice touch but not very clear so your not going to use it much. It has a resistive screen but as far as that goes its very responsive! The resalution on the screen is ok its clear enough to do what you want it to do but don't expect HD quality but i think that is understandable. The screen its self is covered with a flimsy thin plastic that sinks when you press on it. The front is glossy its not eye catching some how they found a material that holds every fingerprint that crosses it. But the thing that kills it for me is the lack of multi-touch, this makes me laugh since it has an 800ghz prosesor and 3d acceleration it is plenty fast enough to play practically any game that the android market has to offer but you cant play many of them because of the lack of multi touch forget even using emulators! My guess is they included the faster processor and the 3d acceleration for android 2.2 wich by the way is this devises only saving grace 2.2 is sleek and looks and feels better then even the ipods OS. So all in all this device is ok not great. its not a tablet not even a real android device in my opinion because of the lack of multi touch. While it surfs the internet well makes a good video and audio device that's about it! A really nice MP3 player. If you want some thing that will fill all your needs get an ipod touch or go for the archos 40? I think that's what it called but don't waist your money on this

Comments about Archos 32 internet tablet:
I use it for games and just general internet tinkering around college when I don't care to bring my full size laptop. Wi-fi could be stronger and more reliable but it depends on where I am so the device isn't entirely to blame. The Google Android market use is a big plus and gets all the updates.

Comments about Archos 32 internet tablet:
Works well as an mp3 player, the camera takes poor quality pics, but it does better with video, thought the sound quality of recorded video is low and muffled. Wifi works well provided you can find access. Currently does not support websites using flash 10.0. And Archos offers no accessories for this specific model so you have to take your chances on universal accessories. Comes with Android 2.1 so you need to upgrade to 2.2. This is easy if you have wifi access, if not your on your own. The odd size/shape usb connection makes it a task to find a car charger, and there are no docks or stereos that I have been able to find that you can use to dock and play your music (ipod seems to have cornered that market).

Cool little device, but emphasis on the "little". Too small for much web use, and connectivity is not always great. Overall, though, a very cool music player that does a lot of cool things at a great price!

Comments about Archos 32 internet tablet:
The Archos 32 is a pretty good little device, its very responsive for resistive touch. The only complaint I have is the short battery life when playing games. It does a good job as an mp3 player, although you do need headphones or external speakers as it does not have its own. I have not used it much for interenet because the area I am in right now does not have too much wifi.

Comments about Archos 32 internet tablet:
The Archos works pretty well after you figure out how to use the small touchscreen. I almost gave up before I got good at using it. However, I am getting to like this thing more and more. The lack of speakers is a downside, but it does allow to make the Archos extremely thin. Overall, I'd recommend it if you need something to quickly check email or look something up on the internet. I was excited about the android marketplace but haven't really found any good free apps.
