Pearstone LHN-HB46 Dedicated Lens Hood (HB-46)
The dedicated Pearstone LHN-HB46 Lens Hood is specifically designed for use with Nikon's AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G. This hood features a standard bayonet mount and a non-glare matte finish on the interior surface.
Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens, by extending and shading the end of the lens. A dedicated lens hood is designed to perfectly match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for. In addition, because the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

This is a solid lens hood that fits smoothly and secure. I have several brands of lens hoods including the Nikon factory hoods and have to say that this Pearstone hood is the exact same quality as the Nikon. Better price, and nothing bad to say!
