[...] The case performed really well. No problem with scratches likes others mentioned but I took extra caution with it. I recommend a large chamois cloth to clean and wrap it in. My only major problem with the case is the inability to use the wheel on the back of the camera. I shoot in av mode and would love to be able to change aperture like I normally would when the camera is out of the housing. Fortunately you can still use the function of the ring scroll on the front of the camera. So I can switch btw iso and f stops with the ring dial. Just a few extra stes I wish I didnt have to do. On conclusion the camera and case perform well. I had a g9 with the underwater housing prior to the s95. The g9 in the underwater housing was worthless to me because you couldn't change aperture or shutter. Only iso. Get the underwater housing with the S95 and you will be pleased. Hope this helps.

It is not every day that I get a chance to dive. I purchased the housing a few months back because I had owned a Canon housing before and was quite pleased. I have just returned from 5 days of diving which was the first time I had a chance to use the new housing. It work flawlessly. Most importantly it kept the water out. It did not fog so I did not have any issues with photo clearity. Although I am not one to review each photo as I take it I do use a range of the camera features and the knobs on the housing are well placed and function very well.

Used for kayaking and canoeing to protect camera. I do not scuba dive so it has not been used underwater. It maintains access to all camera functions. Pictures turned out well but of course water drops need to be wiped off of the housing in front of the lens before taking pictures.

No problems with this case, and it's much cheaper than the Ikelite. The manual says that you should replace the o-ring after a year, but most other sources say it's unnecessary. Even if you do want to replace it, I couldn't find anywhere (even on the Canon site) that it was sold.

Comments about WP-DC38 Case for Canon PowerShot S95:
I don't have the setup yet to use this case with an external flash underwater, but I have been diving with it at least 30 times so far. I regularly dive to 80-100 feet and have had no problems with the functionality of the case and no worry that it will keep my camera safe and dry.
Every button and function on the camera is accessible even while it is in the case with the exception of the spinner dial on the back of the camera, but there is a knob on the side of the case that provides access and use of the ring function on the camera! The buttons are even spaced a bit farther apart on the case to make it easier to use underwater (even with gloves). The lens quality is perfect, and the clear case allows you to easily verify a good seal before entering the water, and while you are on a dive. It also works great for snorkeling and for misty or dusty conditions.
I have even used it to take pictures of waterfalls from up close and ocean waves crashing against the rocks. The mount on the bottom of the case works great for attaching it to a tripod. It will always keep my camera safe and still takes amazing pictures through the case (even above water)
The only thing I would ever complain about regarding this case is the silver paint on the plastic piece of the case that protects the lens. And that is only because any scratches on the rest of the case are well hidden, but this is the only painted part of the case, and once it gets scratched, it doesn't look as good. But honestly, that is just me being nit-picky about aesthetics.
I have bought Canon cases for my cameras before and have referred them to friends. At least 2 other friends have bought the same camera (s95) and the underwater case and have loved them just as much as I have. Also, B&H has been my source for the lowest prices for accessories for my electronics, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them first. Take a look around if you don't believe me. Good luck, and enjoy the case!

Tried it during my holiday in Phuket a couple of weeks back and I have no regrets getting this product, very effective and picture quality was not affected with the use of this casing. The buttons are well thought out and was easy to use.
One particular downside of it was that the lens area fogs up (outside, not inside the casing) due to temperature differences under and above water.

I was going on vacation (honeymoon) to the Big Island of Hawaii. I was tossed between the ikelite and canon WP-DC38 underwater housing. Since I was not going to use strobes or filters while diving, I choose the Canon WP-DC38 housing. Out of the box it was easy to use. Just put the camera into the WP-DC38, snap the case shut, and your ready for water action! Its that easy.
To care for the product, I washed the casing in the hotel sink, and used the supplied grease to lube the O-ring seal. I used the included wrist strap while diving. it was comfortable and srtong. You are going to love you bought this accessory for your s95 when that pod of spinner dolphins swims with you. (true story) Housing scratches easy, but since its just a casing, I didnt really care.

I bought this specifically to take pictures in water while on a Disney cruise, specifically, Castaway Cay. The case is definitely water tight and ALL controls are accessible, even the front control dial. For taking pictures underwater, it is perfect! One thing I didn't count on or anticipate was the water droplets on the lens portion of the case when taking pictures above water. It totally ruined the photos. I wonder if I could have rubbed some of the silicone that came with the case on the lens portion so that that water would just roll off. By the way, the silicone is meant for the rubber yellow gasket seal. Anyway, to recap, for taking pictures underwater, this is perfect. For taking pics above water while in the water, be careful to not get water on the lens portion or else the droplets will ruin the photos!

Got this case for my S95 just before heading off for a Caribbean vacation, to use while snorkeling with the family.
It worked great, no problems with leaks, was simple to use, and gave full control of all the camera features, fit the camera perfectly.
This is my first underwater case, but learning to use it and getting the camera safely in the case was no hassle at all.

I use it to protect the camera when boating and doing things around water.
This case is well thought out and easy to use. You have access to all camera functions. Hard or impossible to accidentally open the case.
It's disappointing how hard it is to see what exposure mode you're in, the top dial is hidden behind buttons.

I only have good things to say about this housing so far - I've been snorkelling with it a few times since it arrived last week, and am extremely happy. the s95 takes the best photos i've seen from a point and shoot, so the housing means that I can get great photos underwater as well...much better than the lumix I've been borrowing. the housing is also really easy to get around with, and easy to operate.very glad i finally made the investment!

I bought this for my trip to Maui and future beach and water sport outings. Worked great underwater for my snorkeling needs. Photos turned out crisp and clear. I shot in RAW for further adjustments.
Another reason i bought this is so I did not have to worry about the camera while on the beach or in the pool. Took a lot of "out of water" shots on the beach and pool, and they turned out just as great.

Have used it twice for snokling and diving to about 12 feet. Used it on boating trips twice and takes surprisingly nice photos. The only place that desiccant seems to fit is where there is room for the flash to come up. Luckily I put the camera in the case in an Air Conditioned room so low humidity as I was in the tropics. No condensation problems without the desiccant.

For the price it's ok. I use this for my Canon s95. Works fine except that you can't switch the shooting mode when you're not in the water. When you're submerge in water, it works ok.

Comments about WP-DC38 Case for Canon PowerShot S95:
I bought it for my Cancun trip. I used it in the sea and the pool.
The first time I used it, I put the camera in and locked the housing in my room before heading to beach. The few shots in the sea were clear and beautiful. Then, there was a thin layer of fog/steam formed on the inner glass of the housing lens. The rest of the shots for that day turned out to be blurry. From then on, I brought both the camera and housing to outdoor and let them get used to the temperature and humidity for a few minutes. Then, locked the camera. The problem never existed by doing so.
For pictures under water. We had instance taking under the pool at night, when we needed to fire flash. I attached the diffusion plate. If object was closed to the camera, the picture was clear and bright. If object was a bit farther (app. 1.5 meter), there were "snow"-like white dots around the object and the color tone changed to be darker. For the pics under the sea during snorkeling is okay with natural sunlight.
The camera turned to be very hot after about 1 hour of shooting under water. I don't know if that would damage the camera if continued using for another hour.
Generally, pics taken above water were great. The ones under water were acceptable. Overall, we had lots of fun with the housing. It let us to take a lot more pics. It's worth it to buy.

I took this on a recent trip to Cancun.
It was really easy to use. The housing is compact and easy to clip off on your BC (you need to provide your own clip) so that you don't lose it. We were in some strong currents and I was easily able to manage shooting while diving.
The photos and videos are great and it's easy to switch back and forth from photo to video modes.
Too bad you can't attach a wide-angle lens.

The overall quality is solid. S95 fits perfectly in the case. Quality glass in front of the len provides crystal clear picture.
The case is slightly heavier than I thought but it provides better underwater balance.
p.s. I'm a entry level diver and not yet try it at diving.

Comments about WP-DC38 Case for Canon PowerShot S95:
I only go on the occasional snorkeling trip and wanted some UW photos for the photo album. For me, the Canon was the best value option. It was easy to use and allowed almost complete access to the S95 functions. There is no direct access to the function wheel, but you can still use it through the use of the S button.
I didn't test it to diving range, but in regular snorkeling depths, the case remained watertight.
