The Sony Alpha DSLR-A560 Digital Camera (Body Only) is a camera that answers all of your questions before you can even ask. High resolution (14.2MP) APS-C sensor? Yes. Brilliant, tiltable (+/- 90°), large (3") display with superb resolution (921,600 pixels)? Sure. Dazzling video in high definition (1080i)? Of course. You want faster focusing? Using the same "phase detection" auto focus for Live View as for the optical viewfinder, plus autofocus that begins as soon as you raise the camera to your eye, you'll catch fast action that others miss.
How about capturing the absolute best quality possible, with RAW and JPEG file formats? Wouldn't you like to create a 3D panoramic photo without breaking a sweat? Abolish camera shake forever with image stabilization and reduced-noise high sensitivity (up to 12,800 ISO)? With the A560, you get this and much more.
The built-in HDR (High Dynamic Range) function combines 3 quick photos of a high contrast scene and combines them to give you one photo with the correct shadow, mid-tone and highlight tones for a beautifully balanced image. 6 scene selections and 6 style modes, including Portrait, Sports Action, Landscape, Sunset, Night Portrait and Hand-held Twilight modes are available. Face Detection recognizes and adjusts the camera for faces in a given scene, and Smile Shutter only takes a picture when it sees a smile on your subject's face.
There's a built-in pop-up flash. You can shoot up to 7 frames per second if you want to, and you can save your images on Memory Stick PRO Duo or Pro-HG Duo; SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards. A lens is not included. Any questions?

Comments about Sony Alpha DSLR-A560 Digital Camera (Body Only):
bought this mainly for shooting volleyball games indoors. Researched several cameras, found the 7 frames per second to be awesome for stopping action, teamed with Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 lens. Starting to play with macro now, wow. Used to be decent with 35mm (olympus om10- yea that long ago) this is great. Live view is nice, drops frames per second to around 4. nice battery life, happy with all aspects of camera.

Comments about Sony Alpha DSLR-A560 Digital Camera (Body Only):
Upgrading from Sony A100, the initial differences seemed strange but in action everything came together well. The Live View and angled LCD viewfinder are fantastic. 1st outing was an early morning sunrise and the camera worked beautifully.
A newcomer might find the learning curve a bit steep as the instruction manual is pathetic, but this will pass quicly once you get using the camera.

Comments about Sony Alpha DSLR-A560 Digital Camera (Body Only):
Great resolution and ISO performance. Great for entry level DSLR and advanced Photographeer (As a back up camera)
Size is great. Ergonomically, good but not great! I still miss the control layout of the A700 and upper Sony's DSLR
Viewfinder is good and might be one of few last Sony with Optical viewfinder. (WHY SONY, WHY)!!!

Comments about Sony Alpha DSLR-A560 Digital Camera (Body Only):
All my wide angle lenses show severe back-focus with this camera. I have tried 2 copies, and both did not focus correctly with CZ 16-80 below 24mm and sigma 10-20... One might argue that my lenses are faulty, but they worked flawlessly on my previous dslrs... Also, this has been reported on user forums and review sites.
This is a shame, because otherwise this camera is great, AF speed is good and accurate for focal lengths higher than 24mm. The live view modes are great, and image quality is fine.
Better quality control or AF algorithms are needed for this camera...

This DSLR is great. I decided to try this one because of the video capability. I have been very happy with it.
With the right settings, this camera works great in low-light settings.
