Nikon's MB-D11 Multi Power Battery Pack is a grip that attaches to the Nikon D7000 camera. It provides extended battery power with the batteries (not included) in the grip, plus giving you a better, more secure and stable hold on the camera, making it easier to handhold at lower shutter speeds. The battery pack is supplied with two battery trays--one that holds an EN-EL15 rechargeable battery, and one that holds 6 AA batteries. A holding case, contact cap and user's manual are also included.

If you have a D7000 and big hands like I do, this MB-D11 is a must have! Before I had this grip my hands were cramped up because there just wasn't enough room. It was really annoying, my pinky finger kept falling off. I had enough of it, so I bought this MB-D11 grip from Nikon and I don't think I'll ever take it off, of course if I used two batteries then I would.. but I only one.
This grip as well made, its made out of magnesium alloy and is weather sealed just like the D7000 it self. All the buttons have the nice rubber feeling to them, just like the D7000.
I have had not had any issues with this grip, others said that it wiggles and stuff.. mine is nice and tight, solid and feels like it is part of the camera. Well done Nikon!
I would stay away from the 3rd party knock off grips. I've heard too many horror stories from other photographers buying the 3rd party grips and they fried their camera because of the wiring inside the grip is bad or something. Just go with the legit Nikon grip.. its well worth it!
I would like the thank B&H for being extremely fast on shipping my order.. only took a couple days with free shipping! I just love these guys!

I read that this multi-power grip could be used with the AC power supply EH 5A. One reason I got this battery pack is because I have the EH 5A and the EP-5B adapter was not available when I bought my camera (and not even the extremely knowledgeable sales person, who I've known for years, was aware that it was required). Nowhere does it say that the MB-D11 grip requires the EP-5B. I figured I'd just be able to plug the AC power supply directly into the battery grip and shoot as long as I needed. Well, forget that. If you want to be able to use it with the AC power supply, you STILL have to purchase the adapter. If it's in stock, buy it, because they can be hard to come by. I am NOT happy about this. One more thing to buy, one more critical little piece of plastic to lose or break.
Other than that, the grip fits tight enough to the camera without too much of a problem. The wheels are a bit tighter than the ones on the camera, but not problematically so. It balances OK with the kit lens on it, and the electronics seem to be OK so far.
One good thing is that you can use fast-recharge NiMH double-A's with it, and they will last longer than alkalines. While the NiMH quick-charge batteries are pricey, if you get a dozen of them and two chargers you can be re-charged in 15 minutes. I've got the grip and three Nikon batteries, but on video shoots the NiMH's have already saved me a couple of times in the month I've owned the camera (I work long hours and I expect my equipment to do the same).
If you're getting this grip solely for the extra battery time, save your money. Spend it on more Nikon batteries. If you do a lot of video shoots where you can hook up to AC power, get the EP-5B adapter, and the AC power supply. In terms of stills photography, wedding photographers or photojournalists who don't have the time to stop and switch-out batteries might need this grip, but even they might not want to use it because of the extra weight.
Now, if Nikon made a special double-power battery that fit into this grip, then I would recommend it. Otherwise, it's not really worth it.

Comments about Nikon MB-D11 Multi Power Battery Pack:
Nikon's MB-D11 was easy to install and with a few menu screens to check its status was up and runnng.
I bought this product with the anticipation of shooting alot of events that revolve around 4 grand-daughters.
I've shot 1K plus at Disney and over 300 photos at a recent birthday party and never worried about battery.
The added weight jumps out at first, but you get use to it.
I really like the feel of the additional grip area and the ergonomics of the shutter release and command dials.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Just recently purchased the D7000 and the MD-D11. I have attached the grip and will not take it off! Gives the camera a pro feel. Fits well in my hands. Although others have connection issues, the connection of my grip is nice and tight.

Comments about Nikon MB-D11 Multi Power Battery Pack:
This grip is a nice update to the version that wnt with the D90.
The surface is nice and grippy and the contour is "just right" for my hands when shooting vertically. I also like one battery stays in the camera allowing the grip to be mounted and removed more quickly.
My only real complaint is the wiggle between the camera and the grip even when it is cinched down tight and the movement of the battery inside the grip that can be felt when it's in use.
The grip is solid, it just doesn't feel like it is.

I love having this piece on my camera! I don't know how i survived without it. Its very durable and comfortable. The only complaint I have is some of the dials are a little clumsy compared to the ones on the actual camera.

The grip makes it so much easier to shoot when you turn you camera verticle. Keeps your arms in close to your body for stability. The extra battery doubles the capacity. I have grips on all of my cameras. Shooting with out a grip is kinda like driving with half a steering wheel!

Extra battery power. Essential when shooting weddings or sports. Just as important, it gives extra weight and balance when attaching long a long lens. Also adds more gripping surface to my D7000.

I purchased the MB-D11 both for the additional power supply and because I get better positioned command dials and shutter release when shooting in portrait. It's awesome! Load-up an additional EN-EL15 or AA batteries in the accessory holder and go to town.
The grip is comfortable and the command dials and shutter release are solid. I don't shoot a lot in portrait, but when I do it's great to have the controls within easy reach.

I attached this to my D7000 and liked the fit immediately. I like the handling, it works as advertised and in general, have no issues with the function. I am not a professional, yet but am collecting equipment and shooting more to get there. What is irritating to me though is a slight wobble I ntoiced in the fit. The more I use it, the more I notice it. For some reason, it just is not as tight a fit as I expected. I truly thought it would be snug without any movement but unfortunately, that is not the case. I still like the weight and overall fit in my hands but there's something about that wobble....

Comments about Nikon MB-D11 Multi Power Battery Pack:
I love having this grip. It adds to the already-sturdy feel of the camera by allowing my entire hand to grab the body when shooting. I also love having the ability to shoot sideways comfortably (which I do very often). Although I have no experience with off-brand D7000 grips, I know that I made the right choice buying this one because it feels right in the hand and I have heard that others (mostly made of plastic) do not have that fortified feel as the D7000 body itself does. My only "complaint" - and I use the term loosely - is that there is some wobbling between the grip and the body. It is VERY slight, and I am usually one to notice small, insignificant things (somewhat OCD), so this may not make much of a difference to anyone else. I do not think that this effects the security of the grip though. You can still tell that it is firmly locked in place. Again, other than that small caveat, I think that this accessory is a "money-well-spent" investment.

I know that there are cheaper ubits out there but why buy a Mercedes and put cheap tires on it. The MB-D11 was made for the D7000 and it fits the way it should. The other units are backwards and do not fir correctly.

I use this on my Nikon D7000.
Taking Equine photos I don't have to worry about my battery charge because I have two batteries. With both batteries I can do a photoshoot with no worry.

I had originally purchased the Vello grip for my Nikon D7000 but after two weeks my camera would no longer work with that grip. I should have known better than to go with an off-brand. The Nikon MB-D11 is more secure on the camera, very solid construction, and it works flawlessly.

Had mine for almost a year and a half now and it's been on my D7000 since Day One. In the past 4 months, it has been acting up on me. Whenever I go on portrait mode and start using the buttons/knobs on the battery grip, nothing works. It's even worse when I just have the battery on the grip and not on the body. It's been coming loose lately and I just keep tightening it endlessly. I've had the grips for my D200 and D300 and they never fail me.I'm now in the market for a aftermarket grip as I refuse to pay another $200+ for a piece of plastic. I can't believe Nikon is asking [$] for the D800 battery grip :-0

I am going on a trip of a lifetime to Galopogos Islands. I needed extra batter power for my D7000. This product filled that need . In addition, the camera has a more stable feel to it; especially when I use my 70 to 200mm lense.
I looked at the cheeper non Nikon versions and decided to go with the best. Not too much more money but a lot more peace of mind!!
