Comments about ASUS Eee PC 1215T-MU17 Seashell 12.1" Netbook Computer (Silver):
Like the rest of the reviews say, this is a great netbook! The 12.1 inch screen is what drew me to it, as I'm sure it did most, I'm surprised others haven't caught on and started making the netbooks bigger. With the majority of netbooks all still being 10.1 inch and in the $300 range this is definitely worth the extra $60! (I paid [$] for it) And it comes with 2 gigs of DDR3 memory, definitely a step up since most are still DDR1 or DDR2, and most of the time only coming with 1 gig! The processor is also a bit faster than the 450 Atom (or lower) that most netbooks come with, but again, it's really that big 12.1 screen that does it for me! I recently got a peek at a Macbook Pro, I had no idea that were that crazy expensive ($1,000-$2,000), and the cool thing is that the Asus 12.1's actually kind of resemble them, as they are only 13 in. So I kinda feel like I'm walking around with a $1,000 computer! :) Sure it's not got quite the processor or memory, but pretty darn close, and for [$]?! I just love that someone invented the netbook, or had the vision to see that an optical drive (cd/dvd) is not necessary for a large number of notebook users! I got mine for a 2 month camping trip I'm about to go on, to have something to email and web surf with, as well as to watch movies and tv on, and I just love it! :)

Comments about ASUS Eee PC 1215T-MU17 Seashell 12.1" Netbook Computer (Silver):
I purchased this netbook for casual use as a Windows development (programming) machine, but have been so impressed with its performance that it's become my go-to laptop for all but the most processor-intensive of tasks, i.e. photo production. It's fairly capable even for that, but Lightroom etc. is understandably a little sluggish on a netbook-spec CPU.
I did increase the RAM to 4GB - simply so I could run more development software simultaneously - although 2GB was adequate for most tasks.
The build quality is excellent for the price, I quickly adjusted to full-speed typing on its keyboard (which isn't far off my MacBook Pro in terms of tactile pleasure), the hi-res screen (my main priority in choosing this machine) makes it feel like a full-fledged laptop, and best of all, it performs well with Windows 7 (once rebuilt without bloatware from Asus). Battery life isn't awesome, but that's the price you pay for performance. Highly recommended.

Comments about ASUS Eee PC 1215T-MU17 Seashell 12.1" Netbook Computer (Silver):
This computer is not a usual netbook since its screen is 12" wide and its hardware is quite powerful in the netbooks' class. It is a good compromise between size, weight, compactness, mobility... and performance. This product does very well what is was conceived for.
The computer comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, a bunch of pre-installed software and Asus Express Gate, a quite useless OS. In addition, I have installed Ubuntu (Linux) which runs perfectly except for the issue #3 described below.
Here is a list of things that some may not feel comfortable with.
1- The touchpad bouttons are strong and noisy.
2- The hard disk already has 4 primary partitions (win 7, asus express gate, recovery and an empty partition for storage). That can be annoying when installing another OS since it is the maximum possible. I suggest to delete the empty partition, create an extended one instead which could then contain logical partitions.
3- The audio driver in Ubuntu does not really work as for many other netbook models of Asus. Solutions have been given for the old ones on several forums, but I still have not found a solution for this recent model. The speakers and the output port work but the microphone and the input port do not.
4- In case of OS and partition manipulation, you have to know that the recovery software is quite rigide and simple. It just recovers windows in the first partition of the hard disk if it is big enough. Moreover, it does not rewrite the MBR (Master Boot Record).

Small as a netbook. But you can play games in resolution 1024x768.
