Designed by industrial designer Neil Poulton, the LaCie 4TB Hard Disk MAX Quadra features quadruple interfaces, two internal disks and dual RAID options. It's simple to use and was designed for plug and play operation. The two internal drives maximize capacity, so you get a 4TB storage capacity hidden in a relatively small desktop drive. It runs quiet and the design is highly functional without sacrificing beauty.
The Hard Disk MAX Quadra includes four interfaces. You can choose between USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and eSATA 3Gb/s. Access to several interfaces increases flexibility, but for speed, the eSATA interface is ideal. It offers transfer speeds up to 3 Gbps. The multiple RAID options let you choose your desired configuration. LaCie has even attached a switch to move back and forth between RAID 0 and RAID 1. LaCie also includes a software suite with this drive, which facilitates quick setup and backup for both PC and Macs.
The black-mirrored style of the drive is highlighted by an LED strip, which creates an ambient blue glow. It even turns red to indicate any problems. The Hard Disk MAX Quadra has several uses. It can be a reliable data-shuttle between desktop and laptop computers or you can backup your entire system with it. It can be used for increased capacity and thanks to the front-side USB port, it can even be connected to another USB device.
