Comments about Nikon EP-5B Power Supply Connector for D7000:
This product does not function out of the box and the buyer must pay for an extra power adaptor as it is not compatible with the adaptor included with the d7000.
It is a costly endeavour and even for studio work I would rather prefer buying 2 extra battery for my d7000 than the EP-5b power supply connector and an EH-5a power supply.

Comments about Nikon EP-5B Power Supply Connector for D7000:
This, while pricey is wonderful to shoot with when you need to take a lot of portraits / tripod shots in an environment with AC power, or if you have large external battery packs to use with it. Its also great for long exposure shots (astrophotography) etc.

Comments about Nikon EP-5B Power Supply Connector for D7000:
It seems silly to need to spend [$] to get a connector that really should have been there from the beginning, but if you do any sort of time lapse, video, etc. then the usefulness of this is obvious. Regarding the battery door cover, if you look on the front of the camera, around the grip of the right hand, there is a little rubber flap that opens up to allow the cable out of. Then you can close the battery door. See pg. 282 of your D7000 manual for more info.

Comments about Nikon EP-5B Power Supply Connector for D7000:
Yes it's weird that a bunch of lesser nikon DSLRs have a port for the EH-5A adapter and the D7000 doesn't. So instead you have to pay [$] for this thingy, whatever.About the battery door not closing...If you look closely there is a little rubber plug so you can route the EP-5Bs cable under the door and close the battery compartment.
Comments about Nikon EP-5B Power Supply Connector for D7000:
Having just purchased a Nikon D7000 to replace a well worn D200 I was a little confused with the need for a power supply connector. Somehow this camera needs an adapter to use its recommended AC Cord. Disappointing, but, ok. The main problem with this adapter is that I can't seem to figure out how to close the battery door when it is in place. That leaves the door open and dangerously apt to break off. I've taped it close but its kind of a lame fix.
