Comments about Sachtler System Cine DSLR 2MD (Mid-level Spreader):
This tripod system has delivered right out of the bag. My first impressions using it to shoot with a Canon 5D MK2 were excellent.
Easy to setup - surprisingly compact for small spaces. The plate is long and calibrated for ease in long lens counter balance and was the exact fit for my Cinevate Uno hand held rig - so instant swap-out from tripod to rig.
The head is fantastic with adjustments for counter balance and dampening in both directions. Build quality is superior - a tad heavy but solid and as mentioned very easy to operate in confined space.
A smooth qualitative system for professional cinematography with DSLR cameras. I would of loved an easy transition to a slider by detaching the head which is not a feature.
System shipped ready to go with instructions for assembly of the mid-level spreader. Additional year added to the warranty was a nice bonus. Bubble level illumination on pressure touch just adds to a sense of beauty.
Bag is rugged and has velcro-fastenable handles in addition to padded shoulder sling and top grab handle.
An expensive coin drop but worth it considering the importance of how you feel about your next shoot.

i honestly can say that this is one of the smoothest head you can get. if you're shooting w a DSLR this can cover the additional weights of a mattebox, rods, etc. the tripod is lite and easy to set up.

Comments about Sachtler System Cine DSLR 2MD (Mid-level Spreader):
I bought this tripod to use with my Canon 60D. The construction is solid and the fluid head is amazing. The legs are fine for what I do with them and the tripod controls are easy and intuitive.
Once assembled the weight of the tripod makes the unit heavy for quick movements or pseudo-monopod use. I ended up just going handheld for the faster moving shots. Not a determent to the unit, just something to keep in mind.
The system is worth the price simply for the head alone. If you are on a smaller budget, go with the Sachler ACE system. But, if you have the money, you can't go wrong with the Cine DSLR.

Comments about Sachtler System Cine DSLR 2MD (Mid-level Spreader):
This is a excellent head, what sold me is the counterbalance range. I shoot on the 7D and can still balance it with my lightest plastic bodied lens. The head is glass smooth great pan and tilt action drag controls are simple. Surprisingly the complete system is not much more expensive then the head itself. Which brings me to my next point, the legs are not the coolest on the block, but they do get the job done. I will be looking for new legs in the future preferably the Miller solo VJ. Also the spreader is a pain to disassemble.

I was researching all of what, zillions, of tripod systems when I saw a ad for a DSLR. What does that manufacturer use? They use the Sachtler, which was made for the DSLR, and low and behold, it is perfect.

When you drop [$] for a head you expect a 130 page manual, bells buttons whistles, the works! So unboxing is a little bit anticlimactic with only a couple of levers and a push button or two... But drop it into the bowl, counterbalance and then walk away is a thing of beauty. Smooth? Yes of course, as expected. Butter smooth in fact, good tension, easy to adjust. What IS nice is racked barebones, body and 50mm only, counterbalancing worked perfectly which is really what the CineDslr head is designed for. Light payloads work P E R F E C T L Y on the Cine head! Full cage or barebones. Nice! The sticks?? eh... Nothing to write home about on this one. Fair set of sticks. Uses screw tensioners for the legs which I'm not thrilled about but at this price?!?! To even include a tripod at only a couple of bucks over the head price?? WOW! Overall highly highly recommended package deal!

Excellent for video, u cannot ask for more at this price.
extremely smooth and thats all u want. Very stable and u can just play with it with as less as 1Kg camera up to 5...
I suggest the mid level spreader as much more versatile.
The carry bag is top quality....and very nice too.
The price for the system is much better than for the head only...but is not a bad idea to match this stunning head with a carbon fiber tripod...
