Coby is not the best name in electronics, but i did not want to spend all that money on a i-pad. I must say i am very impressed with this tablet. it does everything i need it for, and does it flawlessly.
I added a micro card for even better storage of all my photos.
The accessories it comes with are well worth it.
The only problem i found it WIFI can sometimes cut out, but it comes right back.

The primary reason I ordered this product was for a less expensive e-reader from I pad or Kindle. The size and screen are excellent for reading. The battery life is kind of short and I had to mod the thing as the Android OS is pretty limited. As with any e-reader you'll have to play with it a little to get certain books you've downloaded to work. The wifi and internet feature is a nice bonus and it plays videos from most formats very clear.
All in all a nice toy for the price.

I mainly use this to watch videos and play app games. Happy with the video picture. Hook it up to the web when im at home. going online to watch stuff and just surf is alittle annoying at times cause it hard to pin point small text with a finger or the web page takes forever to load. battery life is ok @ 2.5-3hrs of games, videos and surfing. but rechargeing takes about 5-6hrs for a full charge. a great started tab for those who dont wana spend the big bucks

I bought two of the Kyros MID8024 tablets. One went out within 5 days of purchase and the other one only lasted about ten days. I am finding it difficult to find a telephone number or a return address so I can send them back to the manufacturer for repair or reimbursement.

Good for : book, video, music, internet call (included MIC), android apps, web, media player on TV with HDMI (720/1080p) !
Would have been perfect if flash was supported at 100% for web, but web video is still possible with player apps. Also video at very very high bit rate in 1080 had problem (1 in so many), but it could had been my SD card, will retry one day with a better class 6 or 10 SD card.
For the price the value is unbeatable and I've looked everywhere to find a better deal before buying this, very happy with it.

The only plus with this device is that it is small and light however this does not outway the fact that the unit is extremely slow and the touchscreen is jumpy all I can say is if your trying to save money because you can't afford the Apple IPAD, my suggestion is you save your money. The IPAD is hands down a superior product.

Great little tablet for the money. Bought it for occasional use while away from my regular laptop. For the price, it does exactly what I need it to do... that being email and internet browsing. I also use it for Skype which works good on it. If you are a windows fan, it takes a little getting used to, but that is expected with using something for the first time. Highly recommend it for anyone who does not want to spend allot but still have access to the web via a tablet.

Considering the low price, I was prepared to be underwhelmed with this thing. I was pleasantly surprised. I just wanted an ebook reader with internet. This definitely fits the bill. My husband likes it so much that he is going to order one for himself.

I got this as a present to myself, because I had wanted a tablet for a while, but didn't want to shell out the money for an iPad. It's nice for what I payed for it, but you have to touch the screen just right or it will click when you don't want it to, or not scroll, or not respond. There is a stylus included, though I actually found it harder to use with the stylus than without.
As for features, it's relatively easy to find apps that will extend the functionality. I've been using it primarily as an e-book reader and as a basic web browser, but will likely go beyond that and see what else I can do with it.

Comments about Coby Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet:
I bought this Kyros for my 9 year old's birthday. I don't have an iPad or anything like that and I wasn't sure if my son would get much use out of it so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This one was very affordable. It connected up quickly to our wireless internet and I was able to quickly download some apps and games I thought he would like. I downloaded a bunch of songs and set up his Gmail account all very easily. The performance is pretty good. The screen responded to the stylus pretty good but sometimes it was a little touchy when trying to 'move' to the next page as it would actually open or execute the item where you started to drag across the screen.
The biggest disappointment I had is that I was not able to open up his online gaming sites (ie: Wizard101) and Hulu because they required Flash. The speakers aren't real loud so you're best to have headphones if listening to music.
Overall, I would recommend it for an entry level tablet. My son likes that he can pull up YouTube videos, his email and music without going to the computer room.

Comments about Coby Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet:
After breaking into the tablet frenzy with a Cruz reader by Velocity, the Kyros was a very welcome step-up for me. I wanted something with a little more "oomph" than just a reader.
The Kyros accomplishes just that. The speed is perfect for me. It plays videos flawlessly, which, by the way, the Cruz would not.
All of the android apps that I have tried on the Kyros have worked very well.
The wifi is very good and holds a connection much better than the Cruz.
And guess what? I can still read books to my heart's delight.
Of course, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that more expensive tablets possess, but, for my purposes, it does absolutely everything I need it to do.
The best part is that I paid only a few dollars more for the Kyros than I did for the Cruz reader.
So if you are looking for a good alternative to the more expensive tablets on the market, might I suggest this product by Coby. I do not think you will be disappointed.

Comments about Coby Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet:
I purchased the Kyros 7015 to use away from home as an e-reader, calendar and notes organizer, listen to music, etc., via wi-fi radio and mp3 filesand to play a few puzzle games.
Pros: Good device to have along to prevent boredom! Wi-fi. Actual Android operating system (2.1) Memory expandable with micro SD slot. Touch screen actually works very well. The tablet comes loaded with a few good apps, and the apps library has quite a few free apps that are very useful. Price is very reasonable. (Why pay more for a tablet than a netbook?) Useful as an e-reader, productivity tool, entertainment tool, web browser. The tablet is lightweight and small enough to fit in my purse, but large enough to be useful. Comes with charger, usb cable for connecting to your computer, usb cable for connecting to usb flash drive, succint instruction manual and adequate website support for getting started and dealing with questions.
Cons: The apps library has bugs, and the necessary(!) upgrade process is rather complicated (thus the 4-star rating). Once upgraded, the apps library still has one bug: each time it is opened the user is asked whether he/she wants to update. The answer is "no," and then the apps lib works well. The apps library has a great many apps that are for smartphones with different Android operating systems, and that will not work on the Kyros, and there is no way to know the difference without loading and trying them. Adult content apps are not kept completely separate from others.

Comments about Coby Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet:
I bought 2 of these for my kids for the summer road trips. The touch screen is not like an iphone or droid, it is pressure sensitive and a little less responsive, however it is accurate and responsive using fingers and we had no need to use the stylus.
The kids (7 & 4) can navigate the menus, choose movies, or games and entertain themselves. There are a lot of games and apps via the android appslib which we preloaded for them to use.
All in all, perfect for what we were looking for.

Comments about Coby Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet:
I bought this as part of an R&D research process. I was curious as to what/how a low cost 7" tablet might work.
First of all, it works if you are using Google's AppInventor and for other development tasks. Its not the world's fastest droid device, but it does have the full droid OS on it, and so can be used as such.
I have little experience with it on a "daily" use - but, it seems like it surfs OK and does the e-reader thing fine.
The battery life is a bit lacking, but if I remember to charge it every night, its fine.
Finally, the touch screen is a little particular, but at least it has a stylus which is a plus in my book!
Overall, for the cost, its a functional, albeit sluggish, tablet.

Comments about Coby Kyros Internet Touchscreen Tablet:
A local middle school recently supplied IPads to all of its students. That's great- but not too many schools are in a position to do that. One Laptop per Child has tried to supply affordable netbook computers to kids in under developed countries. I really admire that ambition. With the advent of a tablet like the Coby Kyros, there may be a new approach for schools. A school could set up several WiFi hotspots on campus, and request that students supply their own tablet. The Kyros is a great, affordable option- costing about the same as a Kindle Reader or a TI 84. I have found some excellent educational apps for just such a purpose. For starters, get the [...]AppStore App so that you can install a Kindle App. You can install MathPac+, a powerful, but pricey app which mimics the TI 84. I also like the Droid48 app from AppsLib, a free app which emulates to old HP48 perfectly. For fun, I love TuneIn Radio, Scanner, Movie Vault, and Maps. This rugged, portable, internet tablet is really versatile. And, one can use it independent of a computer. You can hook up a USB keyboard as I have done to prepare this review. This is a gem of an educational entertainment center.

I really just wanted a cheap reader with a decent color screen (to read in dim light). You get that and a lot more with this thing. Welcome to Android! If reading gets tiresome, there's the internet (with the huge amount of free Android programs), email, movies and music, galore (use up to a 16gb micro SDHC card to get full enjoyment).
Can't wait to try out the HD video on my HDTV (need a "C to A" HDMI cable, and probably a "Toslink to optical" for sound to my receiver). I can easily see how DVDs are becoming obsolete..
Only gave it 4 stars because of the battery (think hours, not days..) When leaving Hi-Fi off and the screen not-so-bright, you'll get 7 hrs easy.

This is an alternative to carrying my laptop. I will use it mainly to access the net and email. It fits in the inside pocket of my daypack. The screen is bright and a good size. I'm just getting the hang of it, but it seems ok. Battery life is not long--less than 3 hrs? Email loads slowly and some websites seem incompatible with android. But I think it will serve my purposes.
