The silver Sony 16 GB DCR-SX85 Camcorder is a standard def cam with 16GB of internal flash memory, which can also accept available Memory Stick PRO Duo, Pro-HG Duo and SD / SDHC / SDXC media cards. The 16GB internal memory provides you approximately 12 hours of recording time in LP mode. Using the media cards allows you to extend your shooting times, while also being able to swap out cards as they become full and keep shooting without having to download the internal memory.
At the heart of the SX85 there's a 1/8" Advanced Hyper HAD CCD imager, coupled to the 60x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar. The 3.0" touch panel LCD viewscreen allows you to view the image and control the camera as well. The camera features Face Detection for focus and image stabilization, as well as selectable white balance modes and scene modes to assist you in capturing your best image. The camcorder features an Intelligent Auto mode that automatically selects the optimum combination of automatic functions and modes. The built-in video light provides illumination for subjects up to 6 feet away.
When you're done shooting the included Picture Motion Browser software helps you to edit and organize your footage. PMB also gives you a hand uploading your footage to social media sites for sharing with the world, or burning them to a disk.
