The Buffalo 1TB MiniStation Stealth USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive is a sleek, easy-to-use external portable hard drive perfect for backing up your computer or storing extra data. Having external hard drives without external power is so nice. This model is a bit thicker than others, but it is 1 TB. USB 3.0 is fast. I just didn't like the propietary cable. I have another Toshiba unit and it also has a propietary USB 3.0 cable. Can't they standardize these?
Quiet unit. Has a pretty bright green indicator light that almost looks like a Cyclon.
But I do like the unit and recommend it.

This hard drive impressed at first. She is extremely small, slim and lightweight and looks very good. Besides the usual functions on notice that it is barely warm even in continuous operation. The plastic case seems stable. The only drawback: The glossy surface is completely unsuitable for a mobile device. Already after the first transport, she was scratched despite caution.

I did my research before purchasing this drive.I compared it against Seagate, WD, Toshiba, Samsung, Verbatim, Lacie, and Rocstor.This drive is the best 1TB 2.5" external hard drive on the market. The only other drive that comes close is Rocstor. The Rokstor offers firewire 400 & 800 support, HOWEVER, the largest size available is 500GB and it does not yet support USB3.This drive is fast, quiet, and slim! Only downside to this glass is that it has a piano black finish which WILL get very scratched even with good care.I would highly recommend this drive to anyone.[...] I would definitely buy from B&H again.

I ordered this little 1TB from B&H for backups on my Dell XPS. I wanted a Buffalo because I have had good luck with other Buffalo external drives at work. Finding one of these was difficult but B&H came through wonderfully. I am very happy with them. It is surprisingly compact, runs very cool and is all but silent. The activity indicator is very easy to see from most any angle. It lights up blue when connected to a USB 3.0 port and green when connected to a USB 2.0 port. Even though its exterior is plastic, this drive has a solid feel.
