Daytime operation you do get some glare,but it shines at night or subdued lighting, the picture is
amazing, its being used in a room 14x12 and it fits..there has been some "abberations" in the viewings but I attribute it to the source cable...
my 4 stars is due to the glare set up so easy and am running sound through a 5.1 Yamaha system with an upgraded amp and sub woofer...

This is a great plasma television no matter the price point, of course the price point is really what sells this tv. I was not planning to go 3D because the lack of content and the glasses and general early adoption misgivings. However, by accident I saw this tv and did my research and liked what Samsung had done with the tv. Don't be concerned that this tv is only 720p with any tv smaller than 55 inches you will have a hard time seeing any difference in picture quality or clarity. This tv has 3 hdmi inputs, 1 usb input, 1 composite input, 1 vga input,(sorry no svideo). The picture is amazing with 3D and high-def sources non high-def sources are more than viewable. This tv will take 2D content and up convert to 3D if you want and the effect is pretty good. But not as good as 3D. Like most plasma tvs you don't have to worry about motion blurr when watching sports or actions programs. The remote is a good design with not to many buttons, but it is a bit on the large side. All things considered you get a lot of "bang for your buck" with this Samsung tv. If you're wanting to pull the trigger on 3D this tv makes it real easy, plus you may get free 3D glasses.
I worked at now defunct big box retailer from 2000 until 2008 in audio/video and saw a lot of tvs from tubes to flat panel and the Samsung PN 43d490 is on my top ten list of tvs.
