The Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Camera body puts the widely respected value and flexibility of the Rebel DSLR at your fingertips. Pair it with any Canon EF and EF-S lenses to create photographs that are uniquely your own. With an 18MP CMOS (APS-C) sensor and Canon's DIGIC 4 Image Processor the T3i captures beautiful, high resolution JPEG, RAW, and RAW+JPEG images to your choice of SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards.
The camera also records full HD .MOV video at 1920 x 1080/30p/24p, among other frame rate options. The wide range of compatible lenses and the camera's dedicated live view give you the flexibility you need to create wonderful HD DSLR movies.
No matter what you're recording - still images or vibrant video - the T3i provides you with a vari-angle 3.0" Clear View LCD monitor that flips-out and is adjustable at a variety of angles for shooting and review of your subject. The camera also features an eye-level viewfinder for more precise composition of shots.
Canon's 63 zone dual-layer sensor works with the 9 point AF system for excellent exposures by minimizing in-camera meter reading error. The system produces more accurate images even in low-lit settings. The T3i also features an in-camera flash or the option to connect a flash, and is Speedlite compatible. Another feature worth mentioning when it comes to exposure include the camera's 100-6400 ISO rating which is expandable up to 12800. Using this setting along with Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer produces incredible low light shots.
In addition, the T3i features a number of user-friendly modes that allow the user to simplify their experience. Intelligent Auto mode, for example, takes the guesswork out of shooting by automatically setting 5 of the camera's technologies to create the optimum image. Other helpful shooting controls like Basic+ provides the user with 2 options for making creative photos like a pro. The ambience selection adjusts exposure and white balance to give your images a unique look and feel. When shooting by lighting or scene type, Basic+ creates artistic filters for the scene or gives it the feel that the viewer is focused on the center of the image. Of course, other shooting controls like the feature guide and quick control screen help to streamline your experience with the camera as well.
In addition to a number of different recording size and frame rate modes, the EOS Rebel T3i enables easy manual control of exposure, focus and Live View features and even allows for in-camera editing. The large CMOS sensor and compatibility with over 60 lenses provide a wealth of depth-of-field options. And it's all as easy as the press of a button - the EOS Rebel T3i has a dedicated Live View/Movie Recording start/stop button that gets the shooting started fast
Shoot by ambience selection
Based on the Picture Style and its parameters (sharpness, contrast, saturation, and color tone), the exposure compensation and white balance correction are adjusted to attain the selected ambience. You can also can also select the strength of the ambience effect
Shoot by lighting or scene type
Although the actual parameter set is the white balance, the settings are expressed in more understandable terms
The Multi-Aspect Function of the EOS Rebel T3i lets you express an image in one of three ways by matching the aspect ratio to each scene. In addition to the camera's standard 3:2 ration, the Multi-Aspect Function includes a 1:1 ratio that creates the sensation that the viewer's gaze is focusing upon the center of the image. At the 4:3 ratio, you get nearly the same aspect ratio as a regular TV or a 4:3 computer display. The 16:9 aspect ratio provides a wide look, much the same as HDTV
The EOS Rebel T3i incorporates five in-camera Creative Filters so you can artistically manipulate scenes without the aid of an outside computer. Soft Focus lends a dreamy, romantic aspect, while Grainy Black and White gives a dramatically gritty, hard-bitten look. Miniature Effect creates an illusion in which expansive subjects are seemingly reduced to doll-house-like proportions, and Toy Camera Effect recreates the colors and softness rendered by cameras with a plastic lens, an effect often sought after by art photographers. Fish Eye Effect mimics the "Fisheye" lenses that are favorites of professional photographers for their quirky, convex perspective
Additionally, the EOS Rebel T3i is compatible with Eye-Fi SD cards, which are outfitted with a Wi-Fi transmitter (IEEE 802.11b/g) and an internal antenna for wireless, high-speed transfer of images. With an Eye-Fi card installed, the EOS Rebel EOS Rebel T3i can display the Eye-Fi's connection status and error notes with ease, for fully functional wireless uploading of images directly from the camera
The Canon Speedlite 430EX II is the ideal step-up accessory for powerful flash shooting with the EOS Rebel T3i. It has excellent flash power (maximum guide number of 141 ft./43m at ISO 100), and is the perfect way to get great flash pictures when you can't get right up to the subject. The 430EX II is also great for bounce flash, with its tilting and swiveling flash head. It automatically zooms the flash head to cover lenses ranging from 16mm up to 105mm or longer with the EOS Rebel T3i. Of course, it works with the camera to provide full E-TTL II automatic flash exposure. And the 430EX II has a powerful AF-assist beam, which allows the camera to autofocus even in total darkness on subjects as far as 32 ft. from the camera

"Rebel" says consumer camera. Uncle Bob or Aunt Sue's camera they picked up at the big box store and shoot on green-square auto with the kit lens and pop-up flash. Serious photographers don't use a Rebel. They use at least a 60D, right? If not a 7D or 5DII? That's what I thought, and it was with much skepticism that I ordered it here. For about the same price, I was deciding between a 60D, used 50D, even used 5DI. By all accounts, the sensor on the 7D is great, and I kept coming back to the fact that the T3i (and T2i and 60D) have the same one. If Canon hadn't neutered the 60D and taken off lens micro-adjustments and better body, that might have been the choice for the extra money. However, the differences between the 60D and T3i were pretty negligible, so the Rebel was the choice. (If the T2i could control external speedlights, that might have won out.) Anyway, the box came in the mail and in big bold red letters it practically shouted, REBEL. My long-awaited camera upgrade was to a .....Rebel? Sigh. But I opened it and have been blown away by the performance. This is a serious camera.
I had been using an Xti for 4+ years, and in good light with good lenses, it can take excellent photos. The T3i is better in every way. Faster, much better in low light, better screen, better features... The auto ISO (where you can set the max) and highlight tone priority in particular are very helpful.
I'm very happy I upgraded to the new Reb... ahem, to the T3i. Or better yet, the 600D. Yeah, that's it. I shoot with the 600D. And I love it.
Note: The 5-star review reflects the price of the camera. Would I rather have a 7D or 5DII? Absolutely. But they are 2x and 3x the price. For best bang-for-the buck, it's the T3i.

Pro's: takes images that are near quality to my EOS 7D, smaller body than a 7D, lighter than the 7D, good for a beginner photographer, the innards are quite good for the price when compared to the 7D, good to take on trips thanks to the weight and size.
Con's: seems flimsy and cheap, I would not want to drop this camera body, it's louder than my 7D, a bit slower at taking a shot, there is no handy toggle for browsing quickly.
I bought this as a back up camera, it will stay a back up camera. If the body were more sturdy, I would have liked it better.

I had a Canon T2i and switched to a T3i. I made an excellent buy and an excellent return. I was very pleased with the possibility of the display and the new mobile processor!

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Camera (Body Only):
I bought this camera body to replace my older Rebel XS. I use my camera primarily for personal use, though I do a limited amount of paid work also. I am a Canadian customer, and I appreciated being able to pay for customs fees and duty at the time of ordering. Knowing exactly how much it was going to cost from the beginning is important to me. Shipping costs were surprisingly low for an international delivery, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was delivered. I placed my order on Thursday afternoon, and it was delivered the following Tuesday via Purolator.
The camera arrived well packaged and undamaged. The camera itself is fantastic, a real step up from my old XS model.... faster, quieter, and the camrea body is heavier and feels more solid in my hands. Excited about the HD video capabilities, and the articulating LCD has already come in useful for grabbing some low-to-the-floor video of the kids.
I also have to add that I was at first disappointed to find that the Canon warranty would not be applicable in Canada, but was thrilled with the Sagemax 3-year warranty option. It was very reasonably priced, and includes accidental damages (which the Canon warranty does not). After paying shipping, duty/customs fees, and adding the 3 year warranty, I still saved over $300 on the cost of buying this camera body locally!

I bought this camera to use old lenses (which are better than the modern ones). I bought a adapter ring from a third party. The combo quality is impressive, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a prefers quality over function (you loose the zoom and auto focus capability.)

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Camera (Body Only):
The EOS Rebel T3i is my first SLR. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I was told by more experienced photographers that it has the same sensor as the higher end Canon SLRs. I chose it over the T3 because it has the articulating LCD screen, which comes in very handy when I'm shooting from awkward angles. I chose the body only, because I was advised to invest in the better lenses as they will likely outlast the camera.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Camera (Body Only):
The T3i is hands down the best camera you can get for your money and if you are a casual or beginning photographer! Compared to the Nikon D5100 (same target customer base) it is much more inexpensive and has very similar specs.
Has a great tilt/swivel LCD screen which even the more expensive Canon 7D does not have! Great for taking ground level shots where the viewfinder is not an option.

I was a Canon user until my T90 was stolen. Went to a Minolta Film Camera and then upgraded to there Digital and was never happy with it. Finally was able to upgrade back to Canon and so glad I did. I love everything about the T3i and will not buy any other camera but canon again.

This is a gift to someone else, and they love it. The Rebel allows for high quality professional looking photos. I am a wildlife photograher, and take a lot of pictures. I do love and use Canon products. This is a great camera for someone who doesn't require all the features of a professional camera, yet wants to obtain quality results.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Camera (Body Only):
I just switched from the T2i to the T3i because of the articulated screen and added format sizes, 3:2, 1:1 & 16:90). If it were not for the articulated screen I probably would not have switched, but macros are my forte and this is a big plus. I have noticed that images are not as sharp as the T2i and are noticably softer out of the camera with the same settings.

I've always had a camera of 1 type or another but over the past 5 years I've owned 2 DSLRs; The Rebel XTi and my Brand New EOS Rebel T3i. Not only am I pleased with the increased Megapixels, I,m very excited that Cannon has included the HD video recorder with a Vari-angle 3.0-inch LCD monitor! A 2 in 1 multi-functional camera, and for the price, fantastic too!

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Camera (Body Only):
I finally made the transition from film SLR to digital SLR and while I would prefer to have a full CMOS DSLR the price range is still too steep. I did plenty of research and feel the features to price ratio for the Canon EOS Rebel 3Ti makes it a fantastic deal. I also purchased the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens and the Speedlite 580EX II flash. I have taken limited pictures so far with the camera but in a wide variety of conditions and have been pleased with the results.

This is a very good camera, light, compact, with easily accessible controls. The quality of the pictures is comparable to my much more expensive 5 D. Forr the money it is a high value, and for most photographers will do everything that they could want. The LCD screen is difficult to see in bright light, a drawback, but overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital Camera (Body Only):
Having used the 60D extensively, I had good expectations for the T3i, and it lived up to most of them. The speed is very good, it actually focuses much faster than my much more expensive Nikon D7000. A bit larger than the Nikon D5100 it competes with, but somewhat easier to use. Delivers very good 18 megapixel images at ISO 100, with absolutely no noise. A bit noisy when you crank the ISO up (both mentioned Nikons are better here). Nice swiveling display, great for awkward angles. The major drawback to me was the fact that it doesn't autofocus once you started a movie. The advantages of the 60D to me would be the fact that it offers wireless flash, is a bit faster, and autofocuses while doing movies. If none of those matter to you, and you intend to take pictures mostly at low ISO (nature) the Canon Rebel T3i is indeed a very good camera at a reasonable price.

After using Canon's G Series camera for many years, I decided to upgrade to A DSLR. I purchased Canon's T3i body along with a Canon EF-S 15mm-85mm lens, and for the type of shooting I do (primaraly grandchildren and holidays) the combination has been fantastic. I am still amazed and the quality of the prints that were shot using a high ISO. In addition, I also purchased a Lowepro Nova 170 sholder bag which has been a perfect choice for the camera and lens, along with room for charger, SD cards, extra batteries, flash, and small tripod.
