Search around for weeks looking at prices and capabilities of SD cards to suite my needs as well as my budget. I decided that a Class 10 card was important ... but some of the prices were a little high given that I wanted to purchase a few cards at once. Extremely happy that I took my time and went Kingston Ultimate X for my HD video needs.

I bought one of these for use with a Canon 550d / T2i.
For photos it works fine, and I would happily recommend it to a friend. For video, particularly at the highest HD resolution and frame rate, the combination of camera and card can't always keep up, leading to a buffer overrun and premature termination of the recording. This happens consistently whenever either the focus or lighting changes rapidly. Under more benign conditions I can record long videos with no problems.

It is hard to say that this card is better than other ones. I always used Kingston memories and they never had failed. It's good brand and for this price, I think it's worth buying.

I bought this card for my wife to use in her camera and she can't stop bragging about it. The class 10 speed is fantastic for taking still pictures and then switching to video with virtually no lag time. The price was fanstastic and B&H was awesome to deal with. I received timely notifications of when the item shipped and updates along the way.
Thanks!

Comments about Kingston 16GB SDHC Memory Card Gen 2 Ultimate X Class 10:
This card writes fast enough to handle the way I photograph. It's very secure within the slot on the camera and at 16GB it will handle close to 600 exposures on my 60D. Not being a bird or wildlife shooter I don't often shoot long bursts so I'm very happy with it.

This card failed during the middle of a video shoot for a longboarding sponsorship video. I lost tons of footage of the longboarder. The card was nearly new.

I have about 50 of these in rotation. Once, I did have a card become corrupted after a shoot, before the data could be offloaded. I don't know why, but after reformatting, that card has performed well. Considering the volume of video these are handling, I am pleased.

Bought 2 of these cards and BOTH failed on FIRST use at the SAME place, exactly at 4.5Gig. Used them with my HDC-SD90 filming in HD 1080i.
So AVOID at all cost, especially if you intend to make movies!
Kingston had a good reputation but now it fails badly!

Started out fine in my Nikon D3000 DSLR. Then half-way through my visit to Yellowstone National Park, photos stopped being saved. When I finally loaded the card into a card reader attached to my computer, over half the pictures were corrupted, or "empty."

I use this product for large amounts of product photos that I take for a company I work for. I want to be able to manage the photos in camera raw format so of course this takes a lot more space on the card, but it still can hold a lot of pictures!!

It is very reliable and fast card for the price paid. Not intended for full HD video but very good for smaller compact cameras which doesn't need the fastest speet available.

I've shot about 500 photos on this card. No data errors/image issues so far. Seems a little slow when ripping photos, but maybe this is typical of SD cards.
