ASUS EeeBox PC EB1007 Desktop Computer (Black)
The EeeBox manages to balance performance, size, and power consumption. An Intel Atom CPU is capable of handling most tasks, while generating less heat and consuming less power than high-end desktop CPUs. This allows the EeeBox to be small and quiet, while still providing enough processing horsepower to run multimedia, home, office, and Internet applications.
The system is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom D410 CPU, and boasts 1GB of RAM, a 250GB 5400rpm hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and integrated Intel GMA graphics. Device connectivity is achieved via 6 USB 2.0 ports. Linux Expressgate Cloud is the installed operating system.

Installation of Windows 7 using a USB memory device went smoothly. System seemed a bit sluggish until I installed an additional 2 Gb of RAM (highly recommended). This helped significantly. Very happy with the machine.

This is a very inexpensive computer in a small and quiet form. Unfortunately, the Operating System installed is the most limited version of Linux that I have seen. Consider buying this only if you are comfortable installing a good version of Linux, such as Ubuntu. There are other reviewers who have successfully installed Ubuntu. It will be easiest to install if you have a USB optical drive.
I wanted this as a test server, and tried to install Centos (a Linux variant), but was unable to get it running, because Centos did not contain the device driver for the ethernet connection. My bad, I forgot that you cannot put old operating systems (wine) into new computers (skins). It is such a nice computer that I will keep it and wait for a new version of Centos that has all of the drivers that this computer requires.
