Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac is a complete package of professional software programs that allow you to create, manipulate, edit, enhance, package, and deliver images, graphics, audio, and video. The suite centers around Premiere CS5.5, for video editing, and After Effects CS5.5, for visual effects, and adds several other deep, powerful programs. With such a vast range of useful programs and tight integration between the applications, it's clear that the whole of the CS5.5 Production Premium collection is greater than the sum of its parts.
Those parts, of course, include some of the best-known, most-used applications in professional digital content creation: Photoshop CS5.5 Extended, Illustrator CS5.5, and Flash Professional CS5.5 are the household names, and their continually updated feature sets keep them essential. The suite is rounded out by Flash Catalyst CS5.5, Media Encoder CS5.5, Device Central CS5.5, OnLocation CS5, Encore CS5, Bridge CS5, and, making its debut in the suite, Audition CS5.5, which replaces Soundbooth and introduces true multi-track audio editing to Production Premium.
Start your production by recording quality-controlled video via OnLocation. Shepherd it through Premiere for cutting (where stronger support for dual-system audio is a welcome addition for DSLR video producers), Illustrator and Photoshop for graphics, and After Effects for visual effects (such as the Warp Stabilizer, for cleaning up shaky footage) and color correction. Use Encore, Flash Professional, and Device Central to deploy to the Web, mobile devices, TV, and Blu-ray disc. Throughout, keep all your assets updated and accessible via the application-spanning Bridge CS5. All that's missing from this picture is collaboration, and Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium addresses that aspect of creation, too. Adobe offers tight integration between this suite and its CS Live online services, which include Story, a collaborative script-development tool, and CS Review, an online review service.
Driving much of the back-end processing is the Mercury Playback Engine, which takes advantage of 64-bit computing to deliver video playback and effects processing at levels previously unseen outside of dedicated six-figure postproduction suites. Suddenly, 4K productions employing multiple streams of video and layers of effects are within your grasp.
Note! Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium requires a 64-bit operating system.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
Adobe Production Premium CS5.5 is a perfect outlet for any media editing focused towards videos and photographs. I purchased this software for the use of editing short videos and documentaries. I currently use a Panasonic AG-HPX170 P2HD camera and the format is very compatible and fluid in the premiere pro software, but through browsing through the devices, the software can essentially sync any video equipment without problem in any format. I would almost even prefer using GoPro or Contour cameras for action shots or traditional filming if an individual is on a budget when purchasing equipment. These cameras are versatile and offer quality picture as well as very user friendly with filming and the CS5.5 software. The OnLocation software is also a very good tool to make adjustments on the fly while in the field filming. The way all the software components collaborate with each other makes for a very positive and personalized finished product regardless of the individuals purpose of use. Overall, this product gives you what you pay for!! Thumbs Up!!

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
Switching from another NLE package I've used for years to using Creative Suite with Premier at first seemed daunting (and I mean just the idea of doing so...), but I couldn't have been more mistaken. I have no regrets of doing so. This package brings much flexibility to the video editing world. The biggest plus for me is the fact that I can take any footage shot any which way (different frame rates, codecs, etc..) and throw it on Premier Pro's timeline without a hick-up! Now that's a breath of fresh air for me. That alone is worth the price.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
I have been a user of Adobe products since 1993. I use Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects and had not upgraded in a while so the Premium suite was the best choice for me. What was even better was, B&H had it only sale for [$] off the regular price of [$]. I really just wanted After Effects which alone cost [$]. My Photoshop and Illustrator were from CS2 and didn't qualify me for an upgrade. When I saw the deal B&H was offering, I got in the car and drove to NYC. Parking was free for purchase of $100 or more. So the trip was worth it. The only downside I see so far is not too much has changed. But I still need to explore more. Also- I prefer to have manual booklets to refer to and not have to rely on finding answers online.

64bit, Using After Effects is so much more powerful than Apple Motion, I still use FCP at work but fully converted to CS5.5 for my business. Pity i can't use the same serial with a PC which i have in my office.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
I'm an editor and mostly do work for the web, sometimes shorts and docs that go to festivals.
I own Final Cut Pro 6 + Studio and have been itching to expand my bag of tricks with an additional editing platform. For the intermediate to experienced FCP user, I'd say this is a no brainer buy. Even if you're not leaving FCP, you'll learn Premiere in a snap. It's helpful that you can set keyboard shortcuts to the "FCP7" preset.
I'll be using Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Photoshop the most; however, the bundle includes a bunch of other software and is really worth the investment if you're serious about video production.
This stuff really isn't hard to learn if you're truly wanting to understand it. There are plenty of resources out there, and I must say that the applications themselves are just screaming to help you. In Premiere, all you do is hover over a clip or part of the interface, and as you change tools, the program will tell you what all your keyboard shortcut options are - telling you what each does in full sentences. No guessing.
So far I've opened up just about each application and the interface is pretty uniform and intuitive across all. It's truly a suite meant to work together.
Premiere beat FCPX in supporting multiple codecs and previewing playback without render, and I find the media library to help workflow tremendously. Of course, there are a few shortcuts, bells and whistles that I've come to love in FCP that aren't there in Premiere Pro, but that's just how it is. These things can't all be the exact same. The pros far outweigh the... I'll call them "big differences"... in terms of interface, media management, and power. This thing is really powerful. I'm very happy with it.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
To be upfront and honest, I've only had a little time to use Premiere Pro, but it definitely fills the gap left by FCPX. I didn't want to go with an old version of FCP 7 in case Apple decided to cut off support and it looks like Adobe anticipated a lot of people making the switch. So far so good. I like that it's more "traditionally" professional. I understand Apple's forward thinking view on how we manage and edit video, but I wasn't impressed with the 30 day trial of FCPX. Like a lot of people said, it seems like a "enhanced" version of iMovie and I needed more options.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
I have used production premium and numerous of its products, mostly After Effects and Photoshop. However, I have grown to love Premiere and what it can do. After Effects is great but would love some more heavier duty features such as 3d model integration as composting programs like Nuke can do. But for the price, it can't be beat and has a vast array of great plugins!

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
PPro still needs work with external monitoring( PITA to use Matrox presets and 23.98 is psf) and After Effects ext monitoring does not work for DVCPro 1080 footage( the PAR does not show correctly). Great price from the FCPX ruckus for those who do not want to go that route

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Mac:
We're a small production house that has previously used Final Cut Pro. With the release of Final Cut X and the risk factors involved on staying on the Apple platform we've started the process of migrating to Premiere which can operate on Windows or Mac. After effects is an industry leader in visual FX for smaller production houses and this package is ideal for both getting started and maintaining high quality productions.

This is the best software made for HD Video Production, especially when you use HDSLR cameras made by Canon. They both go together like kissing cousins. B& H is the vest company to use as a vendor for all professional video needs. They have expert specialist that can help you in trouble shooting and they are always ready to help when you need it. When it comes to top rated service B&H cares and the Adobe folks are the partner they could have for video production software. I am a sold customer of ADOBE SOFTWARE AND B&H. They both will be getting all my video business from A.F. Productions in the future. Guys keep up the Fantastic work and please don't let up.Another very happy customer.

I mainly purchased this for Photoshop and Illustrator, which are both great tools. Nothing really compares to Photoshop as far as I'm concerned. BHPhotoVideo's ordering process and communication was excellent.

I have used these packages since CS2 and they just keep getting better. I am a graphic designer and also video editor / compositor. The work flows are great 'dynamic link' is a big time saver. Don't bother buying any of the apps in the suite separately get the whole thing so you can use the 'dynamic link' feature.
Very stable, reliable. Recommend! Premiere is fantastic for DSLR too.

I use the suite for video production, authoring, web design, and graphic design. The latest additions to the software are great! I am actually starting to use Adobe Bridge now, when before I was scared of it, but it's really nice that it ties into all the programs. I just wish it included Dreaweaver, oh well. ;-)

Since I was a user of Photoshop, After Effects and Audition for years I thought why not try out Premiere? FCP X wasn't ready.
I have to say the performance of Premiere was amazing! I use a newer iMac 3.4 i7 with 1GB Video & 16Gb RAM.
Adobe Premiere screamed through a multiple layered sequence with DSLR and P2 HD footage. I absolutely love it! Editing in real time exists now!
CS 5.5 Production Premium is ready for the next generation of 64bit computing hardware. Intuitive and very, very fast!
