I want to get a Roku 4 for its capabilities. My audio system I utilize with the tv is a high end but older stereo system. The Roku has an optical output. Can I connect the optical out from the Roku box via the KanexPro Digital to Analog Audio Converter to RCA and connect them to my stereo system? I did a similar thing with a different optical converter from a optical out of a Samsung Smart tv to another high end but older stereo system in another room and it work pretty well. I have occasional drops in the signal with that converter so I am looking at this one for the new project of Roku to audio, will it work?

This will work for you. The Roku 4 has an optical Toslink audio output, you would be able to connect the Roku 4 to this device and it will convert the audio to RCA. We have Toslink cables available at different lengths, including 25 feet if the stereo is not very close to the Roku 4.

Does the 5V DC power supply that comes with the KanexPro Digital to Analog audio converter operate solely on 110V or is it automatically switching with an input range of 110 to 220 Volt AC?

This device does only works on a PCM signal. It does not work on a Dolby signal through the optics. Unfortunately!
