The MD-5250 is Cool lux's original spring clamp mount. It features all metal construction and soft vinyl tips to protect the clamping surface. The 5/8" stud mounted on the handle allows lights to be attached. This unit will clamp to objects up to 2 inches thick.

Just an average clamp that can be purchased in any Home Depot for about $1.00 and a 5/8 inch stud screwed into the bottom of the clamp.� Mine arrived with scratches where they drilled and screwed the clamp, and glue where the red rubber handle had come off and had been glued on.� I could have made one for pennies.� Not worth buying once let alone twice.� And to add insult to injury, the clamp itself is so stiff that it takes pliers to open it not to mention getting it open wide enough to actually clamp on something.� Never again!
These work quite well given your lights have a location to mount at a proper height. The clamps could be a little stronger on their tension to keep them tight on the mounted area, I would not recommend them for anyone trying to mount lights sideways.
