The Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Blue) is a slick little camera that packs more lens than you'd expect from its compact frame. Featuring a 10x wide-angle zoom lens (25-250mm 35mm equivalent), the S6200 employs a 16 Mp CCD sensor to capture crisp, beautiful high-res images. The camera also lets you record 720p HD video with a single touch. View captured movies and images on the bright 2.7" LCD screen. Or using the HDMI mini connector, you can instantly play back from your S6200 to your compatible HDTV.
The S6200's Four-way Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization helps banish blurry pictures. Sensitivity up to 3200 ISO lets you keep shooting even when it gets dark. Subject Tracking Autofocus function lets you lock onto a moving subject to keep it in focus at all times. A Best Shot Selector mode quickly and automatically takes 10 shots in low light, and selects the sharpest image as a keeper.
The Smart Portrait System makes every person you photograph look good, by automatically capturing a smile, warning you when someone blinks in a picture, automatically correcting red-eye, and smoothing out wrinkles and blemishes on faces. A full set of in-camera effects gives your creativity free play as you adjust images for viewing during playback.
The S6200 offers 20 scene modes, including Pet Portrait, Night Landscape, Sports, Party/Indoor, Sunset, and lots more. Taking the guesswork out of the equation, a Scene Auto Selector chooses the optimal mode for your specific shooting conditions at any given moment. Encased in a slim, petite body, the S6200 packs a powerful punch for just about any shooting situation.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Blue):
I bought this mainly to use for activities like hiking, horseback riding and walking my dogs. It works fine for that, though it does seem to have trouble with light/dark conditions sometimes. The one gripe I have is that when I want to take macro pics of items for online auctions, it refuses to stay focused on the item. It actually focuses sharp for a second (so I know it has the potential) and then goes fuzzy. And yes, I have the settings correct and I'm focusing correctly (holding down half way etc etc). I tried a second camera to see if mine was faulty but that one had the same issue. I finally figured out that to take a fairly sharp picture of a small object, I need to 'lock in' the picture from far away (get the green box on screen) then zoom in while the green box is still on the screen. All in all, it's ok for the price but not as perfectly fabulous as I'd hoped. Oh, and I found shooting speed is much better with a large memory card.

Love the long zoom. Great shots. Compact enough for those birthday pics and a big enough zoom to capture that sasquatch when he crosses the road. And Nikon quality.

Nikon has once again made a great camera! I have a DSLR from Nikon and love it - I purchased this camera though, for work, and needed something more user friendly for the staff to utelize. Well, this did it! It's a great point and shoot and produces wonderful images suitable for printing in our monthly magazine as well as taking good portrait shots for our member directory.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Blue):
I bought this for a secondary camera. I have a SLR and wanted this one to carry around with me everyday for those just-in-case pictures. It is small enough to put in pocket or purse. I love the size. It takes great pictures and videos. It's not the quality of the SLR but is not supposed to be. Great camera for the money.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S6200 Digital Camera (Blue):
About 2 years ago I bought a camera without a rechargeable battery, it wasn't so nice. Just recently I received the Coolpix S6200 as a gift and I love it!I use it to photograph my life. I love the color, the zoom quality, picture quality and how long the battery lasts. The only problem I have with it is that it sometimes just turns on in the case but, that's not even a problem because it only happens when I accidentally press the on button.
