The Matrox MXO2 Thunderbolt Adapter adapts your existing MXO2 so that it can be used with a Mac laptop or desktop system with a high-speed Thunderbolt port. This adapter connects to a Thunderbolt cable (not included) on one end and, on the other side, to the multi-pin cable that came with your MXO2 box – any product in the line, whether a laptop or desktop model.
This adapter, an endpoint device (no further Thunderbolt daisy-chaining is possible), allows you to establish up to a 10 Gb/s connection between your MXO2 box and your computer.
Note! Requires a Thunderbolt cable.

We have just built a new "lower cost" Avid edit station with an iMac 27", Promise storage and our "old" Mxo2 mini for monitoring. That works perfectly ! HD, SD.
Just one regret : only one Thunderbolt port, so we can't chain the elements.

Plug it in to your thunderbolt and your mxo2 into it and everything just work! No driver, completely invisible to the mac, just as if you using your mxo2 via expresscard.
I'll give it a 5 if it comes with thunderbolt cable, it's not like the cable is optional item.
