I bought a copy of Movie Edit Pro MX Plus: Version 18 and stupidly I sold it. Not only is the video editing not very user friendly. Not only is the "Insta Movie" simply awful.Adobe constantly wants to charge you more for extra gadgets and bells and whistles along the way. [*]. Unbelievable. Not only do they want extra for the bells and whistles - like decent disc menus etc - but when you hit the "click here for transitions tips and help" - YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE HELP! Totally disgusted. Oh yeah - I forgot that on my Quad core PC with 6 GB of RAM .... it freezes and crashes (twice in 2 days).

I've been using Photoshop Elements for years as a low cost alternative for Photoshop - it's done everything that I need and now with the new features including layers, layer masks, and many other editing features, it's a winner! I particularily like the "content awareness" feature of the spot healing brush. I'm a real estate agent and take lots of house photos - the new Elements 10 allows you to remove electric/telephone wires which can be distracting in front or side home views. I also use Photoshop Lightroom and it integrates with Lightroom so you can just go to the Edit In menu selection and your photo is exported to Elements and then re-imported to Lightroom - this makes the entire editing process easy. I also like the integration with other third party editing programs which again, you can do seemlessly in Elements 10. I also subscribe to the Elements User's Group where you can view numerous video tutorials - always something to learn.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet - Photoshop Elements is more than enough for the casual, weekend, hobbyist, or even semi-pro photographer. Seriously, spend a little money at B&H on a GOOD camera and lens (ie. NOT a smartphone, pad, or pod!!) and let the camera do the work. Add Elements 10 and you'll have more options than you'll ever use!!

I have been using and older version of Photoshop CS for photography, for a number of years. I have found through a friend that Elements 10 will do everything that I need and more. And at a considerably less price. I'm still learning Elements 10, but it seems like an excellent program.

I am a beginning photographer and needed a Photo editing program to use for my photos. I had heard wonderful things about PSE 10 and was anxious to try it out. Luckily, B&H ran a 24 hour half off sale on all Photoshop products and I was able to take advantage of it.
I've had PSE 10 for about 2 weeks now, and although it is a bit difficult to learn for newbies, I'm already loving all of the options it gives me when editing my photos!
B&H's service can't be beat!

I was wondering whether I should buy the Elements product or save up for the full version. I decided to buy the Elements and am happy I did. It seems to have everything I could possibly need and more for photo editing. The price is much more affordable too. I suppose the con would be that you cannot add any plug ins. But, I don't really know of any I need at the moment. Easy to install and somewhat easy to use.

PSE 10 is loaded with controls and effects, I like the group photo edit, very easy to use (which supprised me) When shooting groups there's allways someone looking the wrong direction or eyes closed, with this it's an easy fix. PSE 10 Lets you go beyond the the controls of Apreture, etc.

Rather than doing another update of Photoshop CS I am trying the new Elements 10. So far, as with mostly anything, there are things that I like and some that I do not. Some of the RAW options that are available in Photoshop CS4 are missing, so I will not remove CS4, but mostly everything else that I need seems to be contained within Elements. One thing that I have to work on is HDR processing. In CS4 the layers are aligned whereas in Elements they are not, and it took a while to figure out that there really is no HDR processing but layer exposure processing. It would be nice if I could independently move the layers to manually align the layers, and maybe there is, but so far I have not found it.

I puchased PS10E for a new computer with Windows 7 because my older version of Photoshop CS2 wouldn't work with the newer version of Windows. It works great and allows me to do just about everything I need to do and seems much quicker. However there are several functions not available that I am used to on CS2.
