Capture beautiful photos and Full HD 1080 video of coral, parrot fish, and other sea life with your Canon PowerShot S100 Digital Camera in this dedicated Ikelite Underwater Housing. Built for durability, it features a depth rating of 200' and is crafted from corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow for visual inspection and monitoring of the camera and O-ring seal.
The camera's built-in flash is usable but its range, coverage, power, and color-correcting capabilities are limited, and it's also likely to cause backscatter, so it's highly recommended that you use an external strobe like Ikelite's AF35. This type of optional flash can be triggered as a wireless slave by the camera's built-in unit. An included diffuser softens the light of the camera's flash, while a supplied deflector redirects this light towards an external strobe. Choose the AF35 for easy automatic exposure, or add an Ikelite DS Substrobe via the optional EV Manual Controller to benefit from greater power and wider coverage. See all recommended strobe systems.
When you're shooting without a strobe in relatively shallow, sunny conditions, you can attach optional, external color-correction filters for blue or green water to the housing's built-in, flat glass lens port, in order to restore hues that get absorbed beneath the surface. To achieve the best results, use filters in combination with a manual white balance. The lens port also accepts external, 67mm threaded, wide-angle and macro wet lenses.
All camera functions except for the rear control dial are fully accessible via the mechanical controls on the housing. Additionally, two 12-24 threaded mounts on the bottom of the enclosure enable the secure attachment of an optional tray and grips, which improve balance and handling while providing attachment points for lighting arms.
- Depth rating of 200'
- Made in the USA from corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow for visual inspection and monitoring of the camera and O-ring seal
- Drop-in camera loading makes setup a breeze
- Simply close the latch on the side and watch the O-ring form a solid, black, watertight seal
- Large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons, knurled knobs, a dial, and a lever, afford access to all camera functions except for the rear control dial
- Two 12-24 threaded mounts on the bottom of the housing allow for the secure attachment of optional trays and grips, which improve balance and handling while providing attachment points for lighting arms
- Buoyancy is nearly neutral in freshwater
- Built-in, flat glass lens port with 3.0" diameter
- Attach optional, external, 67mm threaded, wide-angle and macro "wet" lenses directly to the front of the port
- Wide-angle lenses increase your coverage, allowing you to get much closer to your subject while still fitting everything in-frame
- Macro lenses enable extreme close-ups with great clarity and detail, so you can fill the whole frame with a tiny sea creature
- By reducing the amount of water between your subject and lens, you get a much more crisp and colorful image
- Ikelite WD-3 Wide-Angle Dome provides mid-range coverage with no vignetting
- Ikelite W-30, INON UWL-H100, and other 67mm wide-angle options offer wider coverage, but not without a little vignetting and edge distortion
- By using a smaller aperture, zooming in slightly, and/or cropping in post-production, vignetting and distortion can be reduced or eliminated
- Available macro lenses include those from INON, Epoque, and other brands
- When not using an external strobe, attach an optional, external color-correction filter for blue or green water to your port, in order to restore hues that are absorbed beneath the surface
- Ikelite filters #6441.41 and #6441.81 are available for tropical blue and green water, respectively
- 3.0" filters can be pressed directly onto the port; the larger 3.6" size may be required when fitting filters onto wide-angle wet lenses
