The Nagra SD Hand-Held Digital Audio Recorder from Nagra is a professional-quality solid-state audio recorder, ideal for situations where exceptional portability is required. The recorder has a compact aluminum body for lasting durability in the field. It can record linear PCM (WAV) files at rates up to 24-bit/96kHz, as well as compressed MP2 and MP3 files. Files are written to widely-available SD flash media, and there is no limit to the capacity of the card that can be used.

The recorder is compatible with Nagra's range of clip-on microphones, which are available in stereo and mono varieties. The Nagra SD is compatible with the accessories from the ARES-M/MII/ML range for terrific versatility. The recorder has 3.5mm mini mic and line inputs, allowing you to connect a variety of devices. An XLR to mini cable is included so you can connect a pro-level device. An internal loudspeaker lets you review your recordings without the need for any extra equipment.

The unit has an intuitive menu-driven interface for quick operation. A variety of switches on the rear panel give you instant access to several important functions without the need to go into the menu system. Other features include instant start-up, 1-button recording, automatic level control, and a low cut filter. A USB 2.0 port lets you connect to a Mac or PC to transfer your files for editing and sharing. The recorder appears as a mass storage device on your computer, so no software or drivers are required. The Nagra SD operates on a pair of standard AA batteries for approximately 10 hours, allowing you to record for a full work day without running out of juice.
