The VX2336s-LED 23" Full HD Widescreen Monitor from Viewsonic is a widescreen monitor that boasts a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. In addition, for illuminating the screen, it relies upon LED backlighting, which uses less energy than CCFL lamps while still offering exceptional visuals.
The monitor features a static contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1. These ensure that darker and lighter images appear vividly and clearly on your screen, especially when the frame switches between either of these. Because the monitor is built with In-plane Switching technology (IPS), it offers generous viewing angles of 178°/178°. With these horizontal and vertical angles, images on the screen will appear with less distortion from the side, below, or above. The monitor offers VGA and DVI-D ports, so that you can establish either an analog or digital connection to your computer. Set it up on your desktop or mount it on your wall.

Comments about Viewsonic VX2336s-LED 23" Full HD Widescreen Monitor:
I have this connected to an ergotron LX monitor arm, and use it both in portrait and landscape for general computer use as well as amateur photography. When in portrait orientation, I can clearly see the entire screen without hardly any noticeable color shift. However, there is a washing out of the greys, blacks and whites at acute viewing angles. Also, while there is no backlight bleeding that I can see (I'm not an expert), there is a distinch purplish hue when there is a black screen. This doesn't bother me as an entry-level buyer, but if I were a professional video or photo editor, I would be looking for a more upscale model. Since I'm just looking for a good monitor that's VESA mountable and viewable from all angles when in portrait, this monitor is perfect for me.
