I purchased a cheap charger. It never updated the 'minutes left' function of the battery when it charged. This charger does that. I'm very happy with it.
Works great with large-capacity batteries, Canon BP-727.

Hello, if you go to Canon website and search HFR606 and check-up it's acessories, CG 700 charger is there. Therefore, I assume it is suitable. Regards.

Can you leave the bat on the charger or will it overcharge the bat?

I've never had a problem with a battery overcharging. I frequently leave the battery in overnight, or sometimes up to 12-16 hours.
