Panasonic's Lumix DMC-GF5X Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera with 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens (Black) is a sophisticated image-making photographic and video machine disguised as a mild-mannered advanced amateur camera. The DMC-GF5X is a compact and lightweight (less than 8 oz) camera that couldn't be any easier to operate, with automated scene, face, motion, subject and light detection systems in place to produce great results every time.
On the other hand, the 12.1MP Live MOS sensor and Venus processing engine are superlative tools that are reducing noise, and putting out beautiful images time after time, no matter what the conditions. The 14-42mm lens (equivalent to 28-84mm in 35mm format) gives you a true wide-angle at one end of the zoom, and a short telephoto that's perfect for portraits at the other end. Power O.I.S. (optical image stabilization) prevents camera shake from ruining pictures because of slow shutter speeds. The G X electric power zoom allows you to select the speed of the zoom (especially useful for shooting video). The upgraded autofocus captures an image in an incredible 0.09 second. Sensitivity up to ISO 12800 means you don't have to put your camera away when the light begins to drop.
Full HD 1920 x 1080 video is at your fingertips, with many of the same creative options that are available for still photographs. The gorgeous 3.0" LCD touch-screen monitor has 920,000 dots of resolution for clear, beautiful images when you're composing or reviewing your work, or using the touch function to focus right on the monitor screen, for stills and for video. An array of creative features and color modes mean endless creative possibilities when you're shooting with the GF5X.
