Dinkum Systems ActionPod PRO Reviews

Tons of uses

These have been an essential part of my video kit for years. Now that the Nasty Clamp is no longer available, the Dinkum ActionPod Pro is the way to go for all sorts of uses. One simple use case is for attaching it to your tripod during interviews, you can hang your headphones around it while using the 1/4-20 thread to place an external monitor, audio recorder, catch light, etc.

I cannot have enough of these around: strong and durable, clamps securely; add a ball mount and you are in business.

question

I use the GoPro Jaws Flex clamp, and the flex arm SQUEAKS very loudly when adjusted.Does this one do the same?I also saw the Manfroto bendable arm and clamp. Can their flexible arm fit any other clamps?
Asked by: Anonymous
To some degree, these types of devices all make some noise when articulating them. The Manfrotto Flex Arm in my opinion is of the quietest of the options to choose from.

Anyone used this with a small action cam mounted on a moving car? Wondering how much video shake I would get. (Arm will be aligned vertically, not laterally.)
Asked by: Scott
When using this clamp on any moving vehicle, you will have vibration feedback in your video. The clamp and extension arm do not have built in stabilization to counteract the feedback, so please use your optical and digital stabilization of your camera as a resolve.

Has anyone used this to mount a speedlight and clamp somewhere for a wedding reception? That's what I would use it for -- wondering on usage and reliability for that purpose.

This would work very well for such an application.

question

Is the clamp removable? I'd like to thread this into my camera cage (or into a cold shoe mount) to support an external monitor.
Asked by: Erol C.
No. The clamp is not removeable. But I used it to support my external monitor by clamping it to a tripod leg

question

Could this fall off on a motorcycle at speed? I think the clamp would stay in place but the arm might bend or snap off. Will be using a GoPro.
Asked by: Joseph Bryan J.
This is a very heavy duty clamp system, definantly overkill for what I use it for. the arm might bend but I don't see it snapping off
