The Manfrotto 294 Carbon Fiber Tripod with 496RC2 Ball Head is a lightweight support system for DSLR cameras with a maximum height of 70.5" and a load capacity of 11 lb. This 294 kit uses a "next-generation" carbon tubing: an innovative composite tube with optimized fiber angles that provide consistent advantages over aluminum alloy tubing in terms of rigidity, lightness, and stability.
The three-section construction with larger diameter carbon tubing than its sister 293 version makes the 294 more rigid in order to maximize camera stability and minimize vibration, so it's ideal for zoom lenses that amplify any camera shake. The 294 tripod features leg locks that were redesigned for better ergonomics. Two-position leg angle settings make low-angle shooting possible, and a rapid center column adds flexibility and extends the height range.
The 496RC2 ball head allows you to re-position your camera quickly, and then lock it solidly in place using the single locking knob, ready to shoot in an instant. Because the ball head is so compact, it’s also ideally suited for travelling photographers, making the whole kit easier to pack into luggage or your photography bag. The head is interchangeable and can be easily unscrewed to allow you to use the tripod with specialized heads. A quick-release plate is included with the head.
