The SLR Photo Adapter from Leica is a digiscoping adapter used to mount an SLR or DSLR camera body to a Leica Televid series spotting scope. This adapter attaches to the bayonet mount of the camera body, turning an APO-Televid 82 or 65 spotting scope into a super-telephoto lens. On a 35mm film camera or full-frame DSLR, the spotting scope-adapter combination will yield an 800mm focal length.
The SLR Photo Adapter seamlessly integrates with Leica's M series cameras. To use the photo adapter with other manufacturer camera bodies, an additional T2 adapter for the specific lens mount will be required. Leica engineered this adapter to eliminate coupling errors and minimize the vignetting and lens flare common with many digiscoping adapters. A knurled thumb screw enables you to realign the camera body in landscape or portrait orientation without disconnecting the camera or adapter.
- Designed for use with full frame digital sensors and will not cause vignetting at image edges. In addition to DSLRs, the adapter allows you to mount other digital camera systems and film SLRs to Televid scopes. An additional T2 adapter, not included, will be required to couple this adapter to a mounting thread other than the Leica bayonet.
