The black PowerShot SX280 HS Digital Camera from Canon is a compact point-and-shoot camera with a 12.1MP CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 6 image processor which creates sharp, high-resolution photos and Full HD 1080/60p videos. It provides a 20x optical zoom lens with a 35mm focal length equivalency of 25-500mm for a full range of shooting options from wide-angle to super-telephoto. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to transfer images wirelessly to your computer and by downloading Canon's free CameraWindow app you can instantly pass images to your iOS or Android devices and share them. A GPS Tracking device marks the location all your shots were taken and allows you to create maps of your shooting with free Canon software.
The SX280 HS offers effective low light performance up to ISO 6400 and its optical image stabilizer provides compensation for camera shake, creating photos with significantly less blur when shooting in low light or at long focal lengths. Intelligent Image Stabilization will automatically choose from six different IS modes to optimize performance based on the shooting conditions.
Full HD 1080p video capture is supported, including shooting at 60fps for smoother, more natural looking video, especially when shooting dynamic motion. Smart Auto mode selects the best camera setting based on 58 predefined shooting situations and New Hybrid Auto utilizes a combination of Smart Auto and Intelligent IS to create a beautiful and sharp 720p HD video clip in Movie Digest mode.

- Built-in Wi-Fi allows one button transfer of images to your computer and by installing the free Canon CameraWindow app you can instantly send images to your smartphone or tablet and share on social networking sites. Wi-Fi also enables remote camera control via your smartphone and automatic backup of your photos and videos.

- Canon's Image Stabilization system offers compensation for camera shake and helps to create clear images even when shooting in low light and at long focal lengths. Intelligent IS automatically chooses from six different modes to optimize image stabilization for each shooting condition.
- Smart AUTO and Hybrid Auto
- Smart AUTO intelligently selects the proper camera settings based on 58 pre-defined shooting situations and Hybrid Auto utilizes a combination of Smart AUTO and Intelligent IS to create a beautiful and steady 720p HD video clip (up to approximately 4 seconds) in Movie Digest mode every time you shoot a still image.

- The Face ID function recognizes when you are taking portraits or group shots and automatically adjusts the cameras settings for optimal focus and exposure.
