The 100mm half-ball adapter from Manfrotto is fully compatible with the tripod. The handle of the adapter screws off and screws back on from underneath the tripod bowl, providing a flat base for the 502HD flat base head to attach to. The head has a 12.2 lb weight capacity and 8.8 lb of spring-loaded counterbalance resistance. Tilt range is -80° to +90° front to back, and pan rotation is a full 360°. A 504PLONG camera plate with 1/4" and 3/8" camera screws is included with the head.
