Today, at its “Surprise and Shine” event, Apple revealed a slew of new devices, including the just-announced AirPods 5. Taking the foundation of previous models and adding a bunch of new features, the AirPods 5 are now the most advanced wireless earbuds to date. Now with greater ANC, improved sound quality, and much more, the AirPods are now more advanced while remaining at the same price as the previous models.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) provides up to 50% greater sound removal compared to the last generation, which boosts overall sound quality so you can really focus during those moments where you need to lock in. A new natural Transparency mode balances your personal audio with the outside world, allowing you to hear everything around you without compromising your music, podcast, or audiobook.
Overall, the AirPods 5 have been reengineered to complement the new multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ to deliver richer tones while also fitting snugly within a wide range of ear geometries. This makes dynamic effects like Personalized Spatial Audio more immersive no matter what you are listening to.
Combined with the latest Siri AI and iPhone capabilities, the AirPods enable users to use applications like Live Translation to help bridge the gap between languages. Now you can understand others even if they speak a different language from you.
Additionally, Siri AI and other intelligent features are built right into AirPods 5. You can access various features without ever reaching for your phone. You can ask Siri to perform tasks like playing songs, navigating messages, finding details hidden within emails, and so much more. An enhanced Dictation feature now captures what users around you say with greater precision and accuracy.
A second set of AirPods 5 has also been announced. Keeping all the features we just discussed, this new edition includes a Wireless Charging Case that can use your Apple Watch and Qi-compatible chargers to replenish the battery. Additionally, the AirPods 5 includes a force sensor with volume swipe, a previous AirPods Pro feature now built into this set.
