The before image lacked the feel and colors of the morning sunrise I experienced. Some of the silhouettes of the trees were beautiful, but they were not well isolated or defined. The process of making the after image was inspired by creatively playing with the "best" parts of the before image and using them to create symmetrical vertical and horizontal layers. I then blended layers together and lightly used different textures to help improve a few small areas that did not feel as natural as I thought they should after blending. The opportunities for refining the early morning sunrise colors, along with the detail and visual interest of the trees, was greatly improved after the creation of the symmetrical layers. Finally, a slight vignette helped to add a nice mood to the image with a bright center surrounded by a gradient of light to dark tones radiating out towards the edges of the composition.
