In the photo industry, it is important to be both proactive and reactive. It’s important to keep the gas pedal floored. In my day-to-day work, this means I have to keep investing time in personal projects, experimenting with new photo techniques, updating social media and my website to better reach my audience. I have to keep pushing new business ideas and new ways to expand my business.
As much as I try to stay ahead of it all, this industry changes very quickly and I have to react to new products or techniques to find a way to make them work with what I love to do.
I think some people genuinely believe that because of my successes, I have everything figured out—but I’m in the same boat as everyone else. Each day finds me hustling and working harder than ever. Even when jobs aren’t coming in, I’m hustling.
If I’m not having days like these, then I’m not progressing in my craft.

Very nice shot.
Very inspiring article. Thank you!
(I thought I was the only one living in permanent axiety about photography and yet enjoying it)
